The response for this gathering has been great! We now have 26 participants, and we are full. If there are people who would like to attend but have not yet registered let me know by posting on the discussion thread. I will start a waiting list, and then if someone who has reserved a space cannot attend for some reason, you can take that party's campsite. Click HERE to go to the discussion thread.

if I may try to help people attend the rally, be advised that the loop is full, and there is no longer a waiting list being held by the organizer. From this point on, it is up to individuals to act quickly if and when a site comes available because of a cancellation. Fortunately, there is a feature on ReserveAmerica where they will notify by email, all who request to be so advised if there is a cancellation. ReserveAmerica will email simultaneously, all who have asked for this to happen.

Earthwatcher - Location of the event is included in the discussion thread and can also be found at http://outdoornebraska.gov/ponca/ which is the site I used to reserve my spot. It looks like there are quite a few nice camp grounds along the Missouri River that I also searched on. I suspect I'll be headed back again to this general area for additional discoveries. Don't forget that Nebraska requires a state permit to camp, fish, and hunt. Permits are valid through 12/31/2017. I purchased mine at: https://ngpc-permits.ne.gov/NG...faces/public/welcome Permit prices are lower for Nebraska plated vehicles.

NEW INFORMATION: The 1st Annual Great Plains Gathering will meet in the Oak Bluff Campground at Ponca State Park in northeast Nebraska. This is a beautiful area of rolling hills, forest, and cropland along the Missouri River. The Oak Bluff Campground is well shaded and protected from wind. The sites are relatively close together, so we will be able to go between them easily. The cost will be a donation, typically the ask if $5 per camping unit. This covers the cost of renting the pavilion ($80 total there) and anything else that we do as a group. We have not decided if there will be a potluck supper this year or not. I want to wait to see what the states are saying around that time frame. One suggestion has been a "Bring Your Own Supper" and join us in the pavilion to eat. That way no one has to worry about multiple people handling the same serving spoons, etc.

I like the "...bring your own supper*..." idea, but IMHO, I would think it would be Ok if folks wanted to bring something to share - like cookies, bars...etc. Hard to say what changes "they" might recommend between now and then. Outdoor events haven't been hampered much to date. "Easygoing...", I agree, folks should feel comfortable to just enjoy the weekend surrounded by fellow Lancers - whether that means gathering close with others, or connecting from a bit further away...either is fine.

Well poop! We have to cancel. I thought Sherry and I would be there for sure. I have a follow up on oral surgery (tooth extraction due to root canal going bad) on the 21st and with the urologist on the 27th (not related to the 🦷 ). Roadie and I just bought a 2018 1062 a couple of weeks ago and wanted to pick everyone’s brain,,, in person! Y'all have fun. Maybe next time. Dave

i want to let you know that Barb and Bob will not be able to attend the Great Plains Gathering. I (Bob) made a mistake and I messed up the Truck and Camper (accident). No body got hurt, that is all that really matters, just my pride. See you all in the future..

Seems they shifted us to the middle gold row. That is good though since site 60 (where I am now going to be) has a wider space avail. I can bring my two pop up tents and we will have a place to gather!

I am looking forward to this! It has been a bit and I have not had a rally for almost a year now. This will be the first one on Vancouver Island (as far as I know!) and will be a great place to gather the troops. Come on up to the island!
