RV Sleeping Systems Shootout, Bedmaid vs. RV Superbag
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, our RV Superbag arrived. We have been using a Bedmaid for a few years and have now slept in both and can comment as to the qualities each provides. Bedmaid $239.00 We have thoroughly enjoyed this product. The added ease it affords when folding up the bed and deploying the convertible sofa is a real hit. The sheet is removable for washing and attaches to the comforter with velcro strips. The comforter has two sides, one for winter that is thicker and the other...

Lenovo T560 ThinkPad, A Laptop For Camping
Disclaimer, this post is for those who like to stay connected while traveling/camping, which I know not everybody does..... We were in search of a laptop with extended battery life to use while traveling/camping. The searching brought me to the Lenovo T560. This laptop has 2 batteries, one is built in and the other is removeable. Having two batteries means you can hot swap the removable battery, which also comes in different sizes. Choosing the larger (72 watt hour) removable battery gives...

Trojan 30XHS 12-volt group 30 deep-cycle battery (130 AH)
Picked up one of these today - http://www.trojanbattery.com/product/30xhs/ With our 1575 and the way that we load it (tongue-mounted bike rack with 3 bikes & 7.5 gallon/30 lb. LP tank) we run with a single battery on the tongue. *We dry camp and have solar &/or generator's depending upon the trip so a single battery has worked well for us for almost 16 years now. Through my work I accrue points towards purchases at certain places. One of them being Battery Systems (where I only had 4...

Chemical Guys - TORQ Foam Cannon & Honeydew Snow Foam Wash
How It Works: Professional detailers and hardcore enthusiasts wash dirt from cars as gently as possible. The wrong touch pushes dirt around and grinds ugly scratches and swirls into the shiny finish. The TORQ Professional Foam Cannon Snow Foamer adds a blanket of super-slick and slippery car wash suds to lubricate any abrasive dirt particles. Prepare the TORQ Foam Cannon by filling the soap solution tank with water, then add 1-3 ounces of your favorite Chemical Guys car wash soap. Gently...

Re: My Favorite Cheap Amazon Purchase!
looks good - I hadn't seen these before. Look like I could use a few in lots of places - been buying cheap headlamps when on lightning deals - but these would be a nice addition. I like having some headlamps for working with 2 hands and red beams for not blinding people in camp. Been buying energizer headlamps when on lightning deals. link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Re: Smokey Mountain Rendezvous - May 17 to May 21, 2017
I mentioned in another post that Marcia and I plan to attend. However, we'll probably arrive on the 16th and have to depart sometime on the 18th or early 19th because of a planned Hangar party on the east coast of NC on the 20th. It's about 500 miles across mountainous NC.

Re: Inexpensive Front Receiver
Some of thoses front hitches are only rated for 500 pounds of tongue weight. Looking around the forum I see most tongue weights are over the 500 pound mark. Do you think moving around your trailer with the front hitch rated for 500 pounds cause any problems if the weight was 600 Plus pounds? Lynn

Re: Inexpensive Front Receiver
I think I would be more cautious with a 1/2 ton pickup since the frames are considerably lighter. For those of us with the HD chassis I really don't worry about it as there is nt dynamic load of being on the highway and the pull rating on the front hitch rating is significantly higher usually at 9,000 pounds (in the case of my Dodge) Now with my front bumper I no longer have an actual hitch separate its part of the bumper I regularly move my 6000 pound pontoon boat around with it on the...
