It's been 5 months now and my cover is falling apart under normal use like it was ten years old. Maybe it is ten years old, I just got a bad one, or someone splashed battery acid all over it before they wrapped it up and shipped it out (witch is how I could best describe the way it's deteriorating, anyone that's got acid on there pants and didn't realize it till they wore them after a wash knows what I mean). One if the cinch straps on the end rotted off so I sewed another one on but the other 3 are intact. That was no biggie but the side panel wear is disturbing, if I tried I could stick my finger through it with minimal effort as if it was made of budget paper towel material.

It's warranted for 2 years so I'll call the adco hotline Monday to see what they have to say but for now my review is a big fat negative, however on the positive side I would have to guess the material is not tough enough to scratch the windows or side panels.

I should mention that the sides I've noticed affected most are the east and south sides and are not corner wear areas.   I was under the impression that the tyvek cover was primarily for uv protection witch was the selling point for me out here in the Mojave desert until I can get a more permanent trailerport built.

Grumpa,

I have to think there is something going on with your cover - agree, take it back under warranty.  In your photo it looks almost like dry rot.

We're in the second winter of using our ADCO cover, and we don't have anything like that.  We do have a hole worn in the driver rear corner, but that's because I haven't padded it well enough.  Going to take a closer look at it tomorrow.

Please let us know what you find out from ADCO.

Don

Update: I called the adco hotline, they asked that I e-mail pics which I did on the 18th and there claim dept. called today and said they would send another cover out to me.

So there warrantee is good and I have no complaints.  (cept maybee that when I took a pic of the warrantee label on the cover it said..... you guessed it. Made in china.)

GRUMPA,

Just happened to be looking at the old post about your ADCO cover and you being in Mojave.

My cousin lives in Lancaster, he has a 5er and uses an ADCO cover he got from CW. He padded all areas before covering the rig. His cover lasted about 2yrs also. Same as you, he had to send pictures and got a new cover within 2 wks. They told him the next cover would have to go through CW since he got the extended warranty there.

It's been another year and the warrantee replacement cover is showing its age too, mostly wind damage but considering the thin material and price it's been a good cover.

Thankfully, Adco sent me another patch kit so I should get a bit more use out of it which is good because the plans for the permanent RV port are no where in sight yet.

Thanks for the report!

When we had a popup, we kept it covered.  We had Adco, and some other brand I can't remember.  2-3 years was all we got out of them even with patching them.  One no-name lasted 3 months and literally fell apart.  We got a refund and bought an Adco.  We decided that even though we like to protect the finish, on a cost/year basis and the fact that it is kind of a PITA to uncover and recover it every time we use it, we decided to not cover our Lance. We'll see in a few years whether we think we were smart or not.

I got one this fall from Camp World while it was on special. I put it for a few months during the winter. Took it off for my first camping trip, and so for we gone out twice and I'm not exactly sure when I should be putting back on again?

To whom that have one: do you put yours on all the time when not in use, or only when it's not in use for an extended amount of time? This means a camping trip every other month. I find it a PITA specially when I got to cover the things on the roof with baskets. For the first time I used duct tape to hold the laundry basket that covered the antenna , not a good idea! It left an ugly tape residue on the roof. What did others use?

The ships magnetic force field is gone with the wind and my permanent RV port hasn't even been conceived yet, I will have to pull out the original Adco cover that was replaced under warrantee with this one and see if I can extend the life a bit. Overall the Adco cover did it's job and was money well spent but the wind is rippin' today an it's likely to end up in the neighbors yard by the end of the day.

I pulled what was left of the original cover that was replaced under warrantee out of the shed today, cut the north and west walls off the ripped up cover in the above  posted pix and glued sections to the rotten south facing wall of the original cover and made one out of two.  Now it may last until I get a CalMark cover ordered or the wind picks up again,....    Super genius if I do say so myselph.

Snow removal and ADCO....

Finishing our fourth winter with the Adco cover--mostly intact.  This winter CO has had great snow (great for water in summer and skiing now) but necessary to remove snow from the TT.  I used a shovel the first time and managed to tear the cover a bit--will get a repair kit/tape--thanks Grumpa.

Now use a garage squeegee with its rubber end to remove the snow and successfully leave the cover intact.

For the price, the cover has done well.  Only use it in the winters so it has not been exposed to Colorado summer sun.

Happy Trails.
