While watching an automotive show there was an advertisement for a new style of creeper called Magic Creeper.
On the newer TT's with the spare mounted in the center of the frame I always wondered how I would get the spare out from under the TT without dragging the tire out. Maybe a long piece of cardboard or carpet and crank the tire down on to it and drag it out and the same when returning the tire to it's storage location. The Magic Creeper requires no dragging.
This "creeper" is a complete departure from a standard 4 wheel creeper, it has no wheels. Can be used on grass, gravel and anywhere a creeper wheel would not roll on. It even takes up very little space when not in use. Just roll it up and put it away.
Sooo, I ordered one from Amazon due Sunday.
Watch the video on how this Magic Creeper works and you'll probably be sold on it too.

That is pretty cool.  I've been worried about how I would deal with both the Lance and my truck with the spares up underneath.  It's difficult enough for me the manhandle a large tire, much less when it's in an awkward position.  thanks.  Another item to put in the queue to spend money on!

You're right Terri about any spare that's mounted under the vehicle. Even with the spare close to the rear bumper it's still a bear to get out and put back.
After posting on Trailer Talk and remembering getting my spare off my truck, I realized I should have posted in the Discussion section.

I’ve had to use the spare on my 1985.  It was actually easy, there is actually plenty of cable so when the tire is almost down just pull it towards you while its off the ground and release more cable, it comes all the way over to the edge of the trailer.  When putting it back just hook it up at edge of trailer and crank it into place.  With that said this looks like a cool tool with many uses.

I am not of the mind to mess with truck tires. Checked that one off my list long ago. If it is safe, I will sit patiently in the camper with Lestie and the dogs - maybe have a snack, or take a nap, or whatever, until the nice service truck guy arrives to take care of things. I will tip him nicely - and continue on.

Of course, this is me in my world.

1st impression before opening the box..Holly kukai, this is lighter than a 6 pack of soda (I don't drink beer)
2nd is very slippery. They even have a warning not to leave it laying around.
Dimensions; 29"W, 5' L and when rolled up 6" diameter.
The second photo is with a 245/65 17 tire. It slides with just pulling with your finger tips.
Many other uses..20180423_06023020180423_064837

I do have AAA w/RV but in many of the remote areas I travel, I don't get cell signal.  I have never (knocking on wood) had a flat on the road but I have changed flat bed trailer tires at my house.  Part of that, I think, is my husband being meticulous about preventative maintenance so I am pretty anal about checking my tire pressure before every trip and looking at the tires for potential problems.  Hopefully, I won't have a flat where I can't call AAA.  One thing I should do is try to get the truck tire out.  I read the manual and found where they hid the tools but I've never actually tried it.  Maybe it's not as hard as I'm imagining as Duckman said in his post.

Thanks for the update, Pau Hana!

This is where I do my occasional pitch for a Personal Locator Device. These devices send a signal, via a satellite network, to a global emergency center which contacts local authorities. It is the same system used by shipping and airlines. The system can locate you within a meter of where you are and will also track you if you are on the move. There are all sorts of models and subscription plans. Lestie and I have The Spot. It is pretty basic and the satellite subscription can be deactivated when not in use. There are very sophisticated devices that also serve as satellite phones - pretty pricey.

Below is a link for The Spot. In the spirit of full disclosure, we are looking at some other devices as ours is going on 6 years old and there are more features now available. P,us subscription plans have changed.

If you haven’t got one, I strongly recommend it.

@Careyj  Thanks for that.  I've actually been researching those but haven't yet ordered.  I'll probably be reviving an old thread or starting a new one to discuss people's thoughts on them.  I really do need to get one for lots of reasons.

Terri,
I'll be waiting for that thread as I am interested too..
I've been getting some flak from my sister (in Hawaii) and a couple cousins about not knowing where I'm at while traveling since there are no destinations and time limit during my travels.

Many of these devices will allow selected contacts to follow you on other devices. A bread crumb type of trail.

Neat idea!

Now my mod brain is thinking:

Would a "movers blanket" slide like that on a piece of vizqueen?

I use a "portable floor." It's actually an old chloroplast 4X4 campaign sign that I fold in half to store.

I can get some serious speed getting from here to there on my back, and it's probably a lot easier to keep clean than that Magic Creeper. I don't lose my tools while down there, either!

Just send them a Glympse, as long as you have cell coverage. Also have you tried the creeper yet?
