I’ve had to use the spare on my 1985. It was actually easy, there is actually plenty of cable so when the tire is almost down just pull it towards you while its off the ground and release more cable, it comes all the way over to the edge of the trailer. When putting it back just hook it up at edge of trailer and crank it into place. With that said this looks like a cool tool with many uses.
