Re: Northern CA LOA rally - 1/17/14 to 1/19/14 (1/20 for some)

BigWaveDave ·
Here's another late addition Jeff. Originally thought we weren't going to be able to make it but we rescheduled some things and would love to attend if it's OK? We plan to arrive Friday (before dark and hopefully get a spot) and Depart Sunday morning. We'll bring some deserts for the potluck and Alice and I will be accompanied by our long haired Chihuahua, Sarah Marie. This really sounds like a lot of fun and we're looking forward to meeting everybody and checking out all the other Lances.

Hi Engunir, The rally will probably only have Lance owners and anyone else who is interested in Lance are always welcome to stop by or camp with us! We don't have any vendors scheduled, but they're always welcome. Our knowledge base is pretty experienced, so if you or any attendees have any questions we are always there to answer any questions. To date, we have a whale watching trip planned and then there are always wine tasting trips, potluck dinners and such. We also plan on driving at...

It would be great if someone (you know who you are) would start to build a timeline for all the events and meals and stuff like that, both optional and 'you can't get out of it' kinda things. We ask, because at some time, we're going to have to semi-plan for meals not catered (such as private times and pot lucks) and time not being spent with the group. For example, we'd like to visit the 20 Mule Team Borax museum in Boron, 'cuz 1) it's interesting, and 2) Simon works with a fella who spent...

Thanks to Galvanizd for posting this. We have found that during fire restriction times we were still able to use our portable fire pit with lava rock and propane. Not sure if that will be allowed given the extreme dry conditions right now. Hope for rain before June 6-12 rolls around. Really looking forward to meeting everyone! We would like to plan a nightly happy hour at 5:30pm, at out site 117. This gives everyone time to eat then come relax for an hour or two with their favorite beverage.

I mentioned in another post that Marcia and I plan to attend. However, we'll probably arrive on the 16th and have to depart sometime on the 18th or early 19th because of a planned Hangar party on the east coast of NC on the 20th. It's about 500 miles across mountainous NC.

Kevin, I'm so happy you're going to join us. Just be sure to make a reservation and then post the site number in the rally thread. Ann, have you made a reservation? I see you have marked the calendar that you and Bill plan to be there, just haven't heard anything since.

I apologize if this has been discussed but I am making my meal plan and grocery list for the weekend and wondered if Saturday night will turn into a potluck. At the Solano rally I was so concerned with the potluck food that I didn't plan for our individual meals so this time, I want to plan ahead. Thanks and really looking forward to the weekend.

My wife, daughter, bulldog, and I will be arriving Thursday February 26th. My wife and I are going to renew our wedding vows (35 years) at 5:30pm. It's part of the attempt to break the world record of 1,087 couples renewing their vows at the same time. We'll be towing a rented 23' Pacific Coachworks Mighty Lite travel trailer with our 2014 Toyota 4Runner. Plan on finalizing Lance 1985 options at seminars. Still undecided on weight distributing hitch, satellite TV antenna, etc. Stop by if in area!

We love camping on the BLM land at Quartzite hope to join the group at that time please send GPS coordinate. When we go we like to stay at Dome Rock BLM campground. Very quite and peaceful lots of open space and not far from town. Free to stay there up to two weeks just have to register with the host and then park anywhere you want. The ground is hard pack so you dont have to worry about getting stuck in the sand. Also there is places in town to get water and depending on how long you plan...

I like the "...bring your own supper*..." idea, but IMHO, I would think it would be Ok if folks wanted to bring something to share - like cookies, bars...etc. Hard to say what changes "they" might recommend between now and then. Outdoor events haven't been hampered much to date. "Easygoing...", I agree, folks should feel comfortable to just enjoy the weekend surrounded by fellow Lancers - whether that means gathering close with others, or connecting from a bit further away...either is fine.

Our maybe attending turns out to be a No... Yesterday, we left Michigan in our rear/side view mirrors and entered Indiana. We're plugged in at @Grayden4 's pad in Auburn IN. With about 10K miles on our present adventure, we plan to change oil and filter on the truck. Have fun everyone and be safe. Continue to social distance when in close quarters.

We stay at Crystal Cove when ever we RV in Tofino. Go to < https://www.crystalcove.ca > Most RV parks in the area are booking already and as this is the first year highway 4 will not be under construction the place will be hopping. Thanks Ian - We live in the San Francisco Bay Area so this is a bit of a trip for us. We currently plan to be at the rally two full days and then head up to Banff/Lake Louise and then south from there. I did see a couple of reduced fares in the neighborhood of $173 CA for the trip from the island to Vancouver.

We're interested. Do you have any details yet? Campground info, preferred sites, activites, etc? I read through the thread for last year's gathering. Or is it just a casual, loose gathering of Lance owners? I don't know much about Vancouver Island. What are the things we should plan on doing when in the area?
