TST TPMS New and Improved Wide Screen Color Monitor

R&V Spiker ·
I just received my TST Wide Screen color monitor yesterday and got it up and running on the bench. Wow! The display is real nice with larger digits and added color. However, I do have a few issues I'd like to report. The new monitor is now powered by a 5 volt mini plug just like what one uses for their smart phone (Android, not Apple). This presents a challenge as I had the previous 12 volt monochrome monitor's power cord hard wired into the overhead console in my Tundra which was a nice...

Travel report - the screen room hasn't budged on the rugs on the floor of the TT and this trip has had us traveling up & over very twisty 7'500' & 8,700' passes so far.

Re: Torklift lower Stable Loads

Gus ·
Great report Erick. After installing my homemade stable loads, my ride was rough too. However, it got me back to the real truck ride I had with my former F350. To me, that was not a bad thing.

Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575

Red Barchetta ·
We recently switched TV's. We went from a more than adequate 2000 Lincoln Navigator with a self-leveling rear-end (air bags) which towed our 1575 easily straight and true to a more than adequate new-to-us 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab LTZ (V8, 5.3L, factory tow package, integrated brake controller, ...). *Here is the thread on our TV switch - http://lanceowners.hoop.la/top...ed-to-a-new-to-us-tv While the truck is much more than adequate to handle our small, skinny, & light 1575...

Wikicamps app

Duck Dodgers ·
I downloaded the Wikicamps app the other day for my laptop, Android tablet and phone. I am not one who usually pays for a phone app but this time I did (there is a free version with ads). This is a great app for trip planning. In July we are heading to Glacier and then do a little Gem mining in MT and ID and then from there we are heading to OR for some Ghost Town exploration. This app made it a breeze to plan our route and find campgrounds to stay in. It has links for all the listed...

I purchased one of those a couple years ago and had similar results.........not consistent at all. I haven't yet seen the Truma in action and hopefully it works. Looking forward to your report Lauren.

Re: Torklift International PowerArmor Solar – product and installation review

Plance ·
HAMSTERS!!!!! Great install report, Mike! Nice to see the new-generation 1575 has a wide battery bracket/tray to accommodate Torklift's PAS box. Much simpler to deal with than our first-gen. 1985!!! [slightly too narrow and close to the nose - req'ing any of several less simple options - see here: Torklift's New Power Armor Solar Battery Box ]. Still curious how and whether these PASes will fit onto the tongues of the other new-gen. Lances, what with the recessed battery tray under the new...

Don, good to hear another excellent report on the Viair 88P. It will be my next air compressor, as soon as my Kobalt tire inflator bites the dust. Come to think of it, maybe I won't even wait for that! Bruce

Good Sam RV GPS

We decided to give the Good Sam RV GPS a try...powered by Rand McNally (RVND 7725 LM).  Found that if we bought it online, we got it for $50 less than in the store (as advertised in the Good Sam monthly sales brochure). Received it Friday,...

Inexpensive Front Receiver

I've had some challenges this year parking my little 1575 in some very tight spaces in the woods with minimal maneuvering room and my long wheelbase truck. Just found this inexpensive front receiver that replaces one of the F-150's front...

not bad for a buck 99. Missing a few places, but perhaps a private campground may have to pay a fee for inclusion in the database.

Re: Smokey Mountain Rendezvous - May 17 to May 21, 2017

BobnRobin ·
We're reserved for the 16th and we'll do our best! Weather report for the Texas/Oklahoma panhandle area where we are is 3" of SNOW over the weekend! So we're not sure what kind of cripple this will put in our travel schedule. I think we have wiggle room. Happy Campers BobnRobin

H2oSmokey ·
I'm arranging for install this week and was wondering if you had done any measurement on the change of the hitch ball height before and after the final asymmetrical install? I'm hoping for a 1/2" increase in the ball height as well as settling the front end a bit. Thanks for the detailed report!

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575

Red Barchetta ·
170 mile test drive with no load and the StableLoads engaged - We had to be down in the Oakland/Berkeley area yesterday so we took the truck as it was a perfect opportunity to drive the truck unloaded and the StableLoads engaged (Oakland has horrendous roads (especially the coliseum/arena/airport area)). As I/we figured, the truck definitely rides stiffer. It's not horrible, but you absolutely know when you're going over pot holes, speed bumps, etc... Again not terrible, but also not the...

Attwood Jack and Control Replacements (No longer available)

Les1 ·
Lippert bought out the Attwood jack line and are no longer supporting them. Consequently, they will no longer be available! I called a Lippert rep and he stated they still have a few Attwood jacks in stock, but they are only using them for warranty purposes. I then called Mike Williams with Lance and he also stated that the few they have are primarily for warranty issues. So, Attwood Jacks, if not already, will no longer available . This is remarkable considering there are thousands of...

Re: Better Living Liquid Soap Dispenser

DandV ·
Okay...so, using the advice above, today I mounted the soap dispenser to the shower wall using command hooks. All that remains now is to stress test it. I'll give another report after we do that. Don Left to right: the wall bracket that holds the soap dispenser, 16-lb command hooks, and the soap dispenser. Command hooks adhered to the back of the wall bracket. The wall bracket adhered to the shower wall using the command hooks. The soap dispenser with the lid removed. It can taken down from...

Great news DandV, thanks for the detailed report! By the way, never drive through California (and I think Michigan) with the suction cup mounting on the GPS - it's against the law and I had a friend get dinged - I tried to warn him but he thought I was being silly LOL WoodGlue

OK, thanks to all of my "Friends" here on LOA helping me spend my money, I just came home from Costco with one of these!! And I have a surprising report to make. It runs my 13.5 BTU A/C in my driveway, about 2600' elevation!!! Didn't even struggle. I'm sure the result will be different at higher altitudes, but for now I'm happily surprised....

I don't care about 20 starts, after all I'm not working for AAA LOL All I need for it to do is to jump my car once, or a strangers car once - and it's paid for itself Plus I can power up and charge my cell phone, tablet etc from the thing - so it's all good. I'll report back here as soon as I use it (it's arrived and it's built well) It will live in my car in the back back side bin! Reviewers on Amazon are notoriously hard on products of this type, and this thing has 4.5 stars (488 reviews) ...

sorry to chime in late; but here's my 2 cents: i think the camping world folders would be fine for cruising the campground. i have a dahon vigor P9; it's expensive at $800, but rides great. the 20" wheels take a bout 1 minute to get used to, then they're really fun to ride. the small wheels feels squirrely at first, but once you're used to it, squirrely turns into agile! i love riding mine now. i'm flying up to seattle with it in 2 weeks to ride it around the san jaun islands for a few days.
