I downloaded the Wikicamps app the other day for my laptop, Android tablet and phone. I am not one who usually pays for a phone app but this time I did (there is a free version with ads). This is a great app for trip planning. In July we are heading to Glacier and then do a little Gem mining in MT and ID and then from there we are heading to OR for some Ghost Town exploration.
This app made it a breeze to plan our route and find campgrounds to stay in. It has links for all the listed campgrounds, mileage from point to point, amenities at campgrounds, dump sites etc.. You can track your progress and edit campground data. It allows you to share your trip and the progress you are making with others, which I will do here on LOA when we head out in July.
Being an IT Tech, avid camper, off-roader, hunter and fly fisherman it takes a lot to impress me, this app fits the bill IMHO. Check it out.... BTW I cross referenced a few campground Ramblin' Ralph has posted in his blog.
