My battery powered tools are Black and Decker and I have their version of a tire inflator. I'm sure they're all mostly about the same but I'm really happy with mine. I'm much better about checking my tire pressure when I can conveniently do it at the campsite instead of having to make an extra stop somewhere.

I use the Milwaukee 18 volt tools. When I needed new batteries, I stopped at a Home Depot Wilwaukee sale, bought the batteries and got a free inflator. It works great and isn't too heavy. Beats the heck out of maneuvering my trailer up to an air station at Costco or a gas station. The Presta attachment works fine on my bikes too.

Years ago, testing a 70 dollar inflator (Goodyear brand), I deflated a 17" dually tire flat to the ground and timed bringing it back to 80 psi.

It took over 20 minutes before the 80 PSI was reached.  The 12v cigarette lighter plug got so hot it melted to wires going to it and burned up the receptacle, not to mention blistering my hand when I unplugged it.

A high dollar one ($200-300+) that clamps to the battery is not going to fall short if you intend on inflating anything larger than a SUV or trailer tire that operates in the sub-50 PSI range and isn't as large of a volume as the full-size truck tires.  Otherwise, about any little compressor is fine if you don't expect it to do that.
