Re: Informal Lance Get Together at Woods Canyon Lake AZ "Aspen Campground" - June 2018

Rob! We gave one away at RITV 3. Joe they work very well and a number of my Lance friends have installed them. One installed one in his 2285 with a 15k btu and runs it with a Honda 2000i. If caught in a hot area, we find an RV park with hookups! Happy Campers BobnRobin

Re: Micro-Air Easy Start--install and 2000 watt Generator

Chuck3006 ·
I have installed the MicroAire on my Coleman 15k. It would not start on the Honda 2000 without it. As to RobertMT's question I think the answer is yes. I think I've kind of looked at it from a whole system point of view as opposed to focusing on single components. If you decide where you want to end up and design a whole system that has adequate capacity you will likely be happy. If I made one mistake it was probably in the buying a TT with the Coleman 15k. But the local dealer had a trailer...

Re: Why you want the Honda EU2200i Companion

Got the Companion and it runs my 15K Coleman A/C like a charm. I added a soft-start device to the A/C and I think it actually made it quieter.

I agree with many points on the above. It can only run 30 amp with two genny's hooked together but I purchased the Companion 2200i because of the heavier plug for 30 amp. Yes, I did add an adapter to connect the TT 30 amp cord and also purchased a longer adapter to make it easier to connect when the genny is in the genny box. I do have the Micro Air on my 15k AC that works perfectly. This seems to be a perfect set up for our HOT Florida summers.

I have run my 15k Coleman with Easy Start at 7000 feet on my Honda 2200. I didn't need to run it, I just wanted to see if it would run it. The saving grace with altitude is that it gets cooler the higher you go. I can't recall ever wanting the run my AC above 7000 feet.

Re: A-ipower SC2300i from Costco

Just for a visual to show how different models of air conditioners made by the same company draw different amperages, here are some comparisons I've run across and documented. In the pics below you can see how the "PS" or Power Saver models really beat the rest at amperage draw if you have a small generator. DuoTherm "13.5K BTU Brisk Air" models were common in older Lances. They drew high amperage, which is why 2000 watt generators just couldn't run them. 15.1 amps while running. The...

There are better options that save weight, gas, and unnecessary redundancy than getting the companion. The Honda EU2200i is enough with a Micro-Air Easy Start, extended-run fuel tank, and good A/C power manangement (this presumes that you have sufficient solar for all your other needs and you dedicate the EU 2200i for airconditioning). While this setup easily powers my 15k BTU Coleman, I have even learned to run it on Eco-boost, which is even quiter, after the intial start on normal, but it...

SpartanStart – Soft Start

Charlie1 ·
I’ve been considering adding a soft start for some time now. I recently noticed a large influx of competing models to the original Micro-Air. Of course, most of them are made in China with questionable warranty and reputation. Then I noticed the SpartanStart – Soft Start. I did a search here and did not see any reviews or comments. I promised Gary at Inverters-R-US that I’d write a review here after installation. The SpartanStart is made in Australia and comes with a 3-year warranty. Sold by...

https://community.lanceowners....1#617906715056913911 Call Gary at Inverters-R-US and ask for the discount. A friend of mine did that after I ordered and he also got the discount. My AC is the Airxcel Coleman Mach 15k BTU unit that came on my 2018 2375.

Re: Renogy 3000 watt inverter/charger

Thanks John... we have a 15k AC, so I think we'd need larger inverter. Front reciever hitch? Is that for backing in or a bike rack?

The hitch is mainly for bikes. I never thought about running the AC on inverter when looking for one but on the last trip I tried it. Now I am hooked on the option .😎

I recently installed (very easy installation) a SpartanStart on our Cougar's 15K AC unit. It starts the AC when connected to our EU2000i generator running in Eco Throttle mode with no problems.
