Re: Trojan 30XHS 12-volt group 30 deep-cycle battery (130 AH)

whistler ·
A good choice! Is the 66-70 lb weight ever an issue being too much for one person to handle alone? The SCS225 battery is more of a marine battery, meaning it is designed to deliver high amps. Do you know how your 30xhs bulk, float, and equalize voltages compare to what your converter/charger puts out, or your solar charger if you have one?

Red, I am in the process of buying the same battery and a battery box. According to specs, t he atwood box you use is about 1/10 of an inch shorter in length than this battery, so I was going to buy a larger box, that has a bit too much extra room, and I am concerned it might not fit in the 1575 mounting area due to more width (I dont have my trailer yet so cant measure it). Is it a very tight fit lengthwise, perhaps a concern, or perhaps limiting tthe necessary ventilation?

HAMSTERS!!!!! Great install report, Mike! Nice to see the new-generation 1575 has a wide battery bracket/tray to accommodate Torklift's PAS box. Much simpler to deal with than our first-gen. 1985!!! [slightly too narrow and close to the nose - req'ing any of several less simple options - see here: Torklift's New Power Armor Solar Battery Box ]. Still curious how and whether these PASes will fit onto the tongues of the other new-gen. Lances, what with the recessed battery tray under the new...

Trojan 30XHS 12-volt group 30 deep-cycle battery (130 AH)

Red Barchetta ·
Picked up one of these today - http://www.trojanbattery.com/product/30xhs/ With our 1575 and the way that we load it (tongue-mounted bike rack with 3 bikes & 7.5 gallon/30 lb. LP tank) we run with a single battery on the tongue. *We dry camp and have solar &/or generator's depending upon the trip so a single battery has worked well for us for almost 16 years now. Through my work I accrue points towards purchases at certain places. One of them being Battery Systems (where I only had 4...

Torklift International PowerArmor Solar – product and installation review

MikeP ·
A short while back someone asked what mods we would be looking to make in 2016. I mentioned I would like to make secure my two 12v Interstate batteries that are sitting on the tongue of our 1575. Shortly afterwards I was contacted by Kerstin at Torklift International who asked if I would like to evaluate one of their PowerArmor products for free. Of course I was more than happy to do so. I know that Plance has already documented a similar install but wanted to share my experience. Hopefully...

Re: Rhino Linings Spray On Bed Liner

Rick L. ·
I also went with Rhino linings on my 2015 F250. My local installer did a great job. I even bought a pair of running board steps from them and they gave me a discount on also spraying the running boards. This worked very well. The Rhino coating keeps the running boards scratch free and provides great step traction. When I picked up my truck, another was waiting to be picked up. It had about half of the door panels done. It looked great. So, Rhino coverings is not just for bed liners. Rick L.

StrongBack's Great Customer Service: We got our chairs, one Elite and 1 Guru, the Saturday before Mother's Day. The DW liked the Guru but even though her measurements fit the Guru's design she preferred the feel of sitting in the Elite. As I put the Guru away I spotted a minor assembly error. I wrote StrongBack to inform them of both her preference and the minor defect. They got back to me right away and facilitated the return and the upgrade to the Elite with a private code to assure the...

Re: Casual Lance Rally & Get Together - Flying Flags - Nov 8 - 12, 2018

Engunir ·
If we were thinking of attending, how does this sort of get-together work (e.g., do we make our own reservation, or go through someone; is there any group-reservation/discount we need to know for making a reservation; are any group-activities planned;...)? Are there any issues if we came in a non-Lance vehicle? We own a Lance pickup-camper; but also have a (non-Lance) trailer that we'd like to try-out locally before using for any longer trips. Feel free to respond to me directly (off-list),...
