Looking through the product reviews I see no mention of the favored roof cleaner used by Lance owners. What is the recommended product that you would suggest?

It all depends on which roof you have. We have the newer roof and per the manufacture, it uses no special cleaners.
Go with the manufactures recommendation. As for cleaning a mild detergent such as Simple Green will help from getting the black streaks on the side running off the roof. Do not ever use petroleum based stuff on your roof.
A while back, I camped under a Hickory tree, where Squirrels were eating the nuts. After a couple of days, my roof was covered with the broken shells. It rained for a while; when I swept off the shells, I noticed they had stained my white TPO roof brown.
I tried everything to remove the stains with no success. Until... I tried Starbrite's Extreme Clean product. It worked so well, I called the company and complemented them on how well it worked. I posted this under the Discussion section.
Several asked if it had any petroleum in it. Not knowing for sure, I called the company. No petroleum, no bleach and no acids. They said it is perfectly safe for rubber or TPO roofs. I picked up some more for future use.
Are rubber and TPO roofs the same thing? I just bought a 2014 1985 and want to make sure I’m using the correct thing to wash my roof
There are not exactly the same. But typically, both recommend the same type of cleaners and treatment solutions. If your roof is just slightly dirty, Dawn dish detergent works well and is safe. If you have some stubborn stains, something stronger is required. See my note above for something I found that works really well. The Starbrite Extreme Clean product is safe for all membrane roofs (IMO)
Awesome thank you no stains that I’ve noticed just dirt. Do I need to wax the roof or put on some sort of UV protectant or is that really just for the sides?
My manual said to use Murphy Soap on the roof, worked OK, 2006 1985. I called Lance and they agreed to using Murphy.
There are lots of liquid roof treatments out there. Some have good success with Protectant 303. OTOH, Many of the RV people I've asked say, to just keep it clean, and periodically inspect it for tears or leaks.
