I bought 3 of these refillable flameking 1 lb cylinders and made this refill  jig. No dickin around with freezing and a full fill each time. I ordered from home depot online and picked them up at me local store.  I have refilled the disposables until I overfilled one and in the heat it assumed an hourglass figure. Not pretty.

@satek60 Tell me more.

I had not seen those before! So they have a better blowoff valve than the disposables to ensure getting a full fill without risking overfilling?

Are those 1lb bottles the same size/shape as the disposables? My Buddy heater for example has a cavity where the bottles go, and there's a little door over it.

Thanks, I think you just cost me about $60! Oh, nope... more than that. Did you get the fittings and 1/4 turn valve for the jig a HD too?

These cylinders have a vent that you open while filling. just open it and fill till liquid comes out. (the allen wrench is on the fill adaptor picture) they sell a fill kit for about $50.00. They are the same size as the disposables and fit mr. buddy fine. They were $14.00ea.when I bought them online, and they ship free to your local store. I bought the adaptors at true value hardware and used a valve and elbow I had at home.

That's good stuff, thanks.

I've never had a problem filling the disposables, but there's always the underlying thought that I could overfill one.

Tri-5 tanks on the TT and a couple of those refillables and I wouldn't need to carry as many little bottles since I could refill anytime, and it's safer.
