I know that several members have posted various products for lubricating the slide mechanisms, etc., and many had to be ordered. Here is one that I have used for years and is readily available at any Lowe's store.

I found this stuff at our local Auto Zone store. Is PTFE the same as Teflon?
Yep Polytetrafluoroethylene is the chemical name, Teflon is a name brand (DuPont?). It's a fluoride compound, which is nasty stuff in general (nasty enough that it'll kill your birds if you overheat your pans.)
Avoid fluoride where you can (particularly in toothpaste, water, and pans), except on your squeaky hinges and such.
