We bought a Better Living liquid soap dispenser through Camping World. It comes with good consumer reviews. Sometime in the near future, we plan to mount it in our shower. Before we do so, I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with it? Any problems with mounting it to the shower wall? It comes with a silicone glue for mounting - no holes in the shower wall. Pictures below.

I've thought about getting something similar, but I was concerned with not being able to refill the individual canisters, or take them down to rinse out, etc.

I like the looks of that! However, I don't think I would stick it to my shower wall. My shower walls are very thin and flexible. I don't think there's anything wrong with them, just wouldn't want to tempt fate....

The flimsiness of the shower wall is another concern. The canisters are designed with buttons which have to be pushed in (toward the wall) to dispense soap, rather than levers which have to be pulled out (away from the wall) to dispense soap. My assumption is that is the buttons are a better design.

I really like that soaps are relatively stationary....the bottles don't get in the way. However, there are many times that we shower in the campground facilities instead of the TT.......so I still need bottles for those treks. Otherwise, I would be all over this. I think it looks good.
One of my thoughts concerning the thickness of the shower wall is to not fill the containers completely so they don't have to carry the weight. I agree, in my logic, the button that gets pressed in sounds like it would not have the pull away impact that the lever style would.
Let us know what you think after you have used it a few times in your rig.
I put one in our fifth wheel and liked it. One problem is not all the soap comes out so when you want to clean it kind of a pain. Never had a problem with it's operation, but I'm not putting another one in.
Do you think the 3M wall hangers would work? (The kind you stretch and stick) You can hang some heavy pictures on the wall with them. Seems that on a smooth surface like the shower area that mounting would be easy and without it being permanent. Anyone try that yet?

Interesting idea. I'm not sure if they would work or not. They shower surface is actually textured, and not smooth.

DandV, I think those products work on different kinds of surfaces. They work on our sheet rocked lightly textured walls in our house. Seems it would work in the shower area too. The shower in my camper is smooth so I know it works. Maybe somebody can give it a try on the textured bathroom and let us know. I'm pretty sure it will work based on the home experience.
When we installed ours they had recommended extra silicon, which I did and it never moved or came loose. As far as I know it's still on there, the only problem again was we didn't live in the fifth wheel so it only got used once a month and sometimes we didn't go camping for a few months so the soap and shampoos would dry out somewhat and it was a pain to clean, other then that I think they are a great idea.

Okay...so, using the advice above, today I mounted the soap dispenser to the shower wall using command hooks. All that remains now is to stress test it. I'll give another report after we do that.

We'll test it on our next outing (not sure when that will be), and see how well the command hooks hold up. When filled, the entire dispenser will be less than 4 lbs, and I used 16 lb command hooks. The unknown is how well the command hooks will adhere to the textured shower wall. We'll see...

I dont think it's for me but I still like what you've done with the place.
Nicely done. I think it would probably fill half my shower, and that I would probably get a black eye or fat lip every time I tried to wash up. By the end of the week, I would likely be so battered that Tootsie Roll would be wondering who I was and what I did with Jacster. After all it is fairly gymnastic to take a shower in the bed of a pickup to begin with, even for a little person (such as myself).

i got the same type of thing from bedbathand beyond, the 3m tape i used worked for a short time, went in to get ready for a trip and it had fallen on the floor and liqid soap was everywhere. i just drilled some small holes and screwd it in and siliconed it up. no issue or worry. you can alwayls lift up my unit to clean or refill.
