Starbucks Ice Trays
I was waiting in line at my local Starbucks and noticed a set of interesting ice trays. The set includes three pieces made of a rubbery material. The first piece makes regular ice cubes. The second piece makes ice the size of crushed ice. The third piece is a cover (see pics). What caught my attention is the size. My TC refrigerator came with a standard ice tray for the freezer that makes no sense size wise. It only fits length wise (i.e., side to side), which makes it hard to slide anything...

Re: Nature's Head Composting Toilet
I have to agree that the Wynn's perkiness can be a bit much. Even when they're saying some pretty harsh things about the way RVs are manufactured it comes across as rough as if an extra ice cube was perhaps in order for the iced tea served at lunch. To give them the credit, several of their videos have piqued my interest. They have some nice information on solar and inverters. And they are self proclaimed "poop experts." Composters have a really bad reputation up here from pipeline...

Foldable Storage Cube Ottoman(s)
Received a pair for about $33. Great addition and comfy for sitting on convertible couch. Can be extra seating. Store well under the couch 15x15x2.8, Currently not available in Brown on Amazon. Would recommend for any who have convertible couch/bed. Could also be used for permanent bed for 'seating on edge of bed'.

Mr. Heater Portable Buddy LP heater (supplemental while awake heat)
I realized recently that I hadn't mentioned one of our favorite fall & winter gadgets. A Mr. Heater "Portable Buddy" propane heater - http://www.mrheater.com/portable-buddy-heater.html Ours is at least 12 years old and still going strong. We almost exclusively dry camp so don't have electrical hook-up's when we are camping (which we are fortunate to do year 'round here). Our 1575 (& our previous popup trailer) has a single-blower Atwood furnace (model 7920-II) which is fairly loud...

Re: Solo Stove Bonfire
Les found this thread for me because I was telling him about my new Solo Stove "Campfire" (that's the model name). I travel alone and I LOVE a campfire...best part of camping for me! Anyway, in the past, by the time I get a regular wood campfire going good, I'm ready for bed - waste of wood and time! Over the years, I've had a Little Red (propane) Campfire and a Flame Genie (built exactly like the Solo, except uses pellets). Little Red - on the heavier and bulky side and you have to schlepp...

Pendleton Blankets and Throws
I just saw that Costco has these on sale: https://www.costco.com/blankets.html?refine=||Brand_attr-Pendleton We have had a pair of the throws for a couple of years and really enjoy them, both at home and in the trailer. They are very fluffy, not very heavy, and the color patterns are very attractive (my opinion). Here is Bison snuggling between ours: One of them will almost cover the top of the bed in our 1985; perfect for nights with just a bit of chill. If it is going to be cold we spread...

Re: A-ipower SC2300i from Costco
Just for a visual to show how different models of air conditioners made by the same company draw different amperages, here are some comparisons I've run across and documented. In the pics below you can see how the "PS" or Power Saver models really beat the rest at amperage draw if you have a small generator. DuoTherm "13.5K BTU Brisk Air" models were common in older Lances. They drew high amperage, which is why 2000 watt generators just couldn't run them. 15.1 amps while running. The...

Re: MicroAir EasyTouch 352 RV Thermostat
Would the heat pump unit, work with this thermostat or only heat strip? The heat strip (resistance) is the least efficient or the two.

Re: MicroAir EasyTouch 352 RV Thermostat
A couple of interesting things I noticed this morning when my schedule went into motion (changed the heat temperature). The Coleman-Mach air conditioner, as set up with the AirXcel thermostat, will only run the fan on low when using the heat strip. The MicroAir separates the fan operation from the mode it’s in, so when I had the fan setting set to full auto, the system kicked up the AC fan up to high when the heat came on (the thermostat differential was 4°F). I went back and changed the fan...

Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Thermostat - Ducted - 18,000 Btu
Furrion has recently released this AC unit for all installation as a replacement AC unit. Prior to this release you could only get this model on new Brinkley 5th wheels (maybe others). Besides the 18,000 BTU capability is the low power draw: Power consumption (cooling): 1,330 watts Cooling power draw: 11.6 amps It also has an "Eco" mode that draws even less power. That might be a very desirable setting if boondocking. There are several models to choose from. This one comes with a Furrion...
