Re: Good Sam RV GPS

DandV ·
We've been using the Good Sam GPS for over a month now. Haven't used it yet for an RV trip (not before April of this year), but we did take it with us to Atlanta, GA over Christmas. So far, we're very pleased with it. We've been configuring it for the points of interest (gas stations, restaurants, etc.) we want it to display while we're on the road. We've used the wi-fi feature to connect through my cell phone and get real-time weather reports and forecasts, which is nice. We've also used...

Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575

Red Barchetta ·
We recently switched TV's. We went from a more than adequate 2000 Lincoln Navigator with a self-leveling rear-end (air bags) which towed our 1575 easily straight and true to a more than adequate new-to-us 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab LTZ (V8, 5.3L, factory tow package, integrated brake controller, ...). *Here is the thread on our TV switch - http://lanceowners.hoop.la/top...ed-to-a-new-to-us-tv While the truck is much more than adequate to handle our small, skinny, & light 1575...

Advanced Elements Lagoon 2 inflatable recreational tandem kayak

Red Barchetta ·
We've hemmed and hawed for 7 years or so on getting a kayak. Hard shell? Sit-on-top? Inflatable? Transporting? Solo or tandem? ?? We've rented at least 20 kayaks over the years and still couldn't make up our minds. In fact GRUMPA, BMJ, myself, and a few others have gone around and around about the subject here on LOA for 4 or 5 years. GRUMPA & BMJ both bought inflatables - Sea Eagle's (sweet kayaks!) - while we kept languishing over the choices and our needs. Well, we finally decided to...

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575

Red Barchetta ·
HS - Since our rig (1500 pulling a light 1575) was already level and I only needed to remove a small amount of bouncing/porpoising I never measured the top of the ball height. Even with 3 & 3 wedges (the max) everything still sat & towed level. The issue was that the ride was too stiff. I went to 3 & 2 wedges and all is truly perfect. 3 & 2 wedges is the perfect amount of wedges to keep the springs exactly where they sit with no load on our truck. If I were you I would get a...

An air conditioner draws at least as much amperage, if not more. We get the same end result. A short life of comfort, either cooking or cooling via the battery and an inverter.
