Re: POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - 3rd Annual LOA Spring Thaw Campout - Stockton State Park, MO - Thursday, May 14, to Sunday, May 17th, 2020

KS Farm Girl ·
Based on the prognosis for the continued danger from COVID-19, the Trailmasters have decided to postpone Spring Thaw 3 until further notice. Until we do get it rescheduled, safe safe, observe social distancing and make plans to join us when it is safe to do so.

there is a nice boat launch there @Capt PJ . BOATING FEATURES Located in Grant County on Potholes Reservoir, the park offers four watercraft launches and 60 feet of dock. Water levels in O'Sullivan Reservoir (Potholes Reservoir) fluctuate dramatically from spring to fall. Launching a boat at a state park requires one of the following: An annual launch permit (Natural Investment Permit); or An annual Discover Pass and a daily launch permit; or A one-day Discover Pass and a daily launch...

Pretty much the same here. I do probably 80% of the cooking on our Blackstone grill anyway. We carry a 10" and 8" skillet along with a small sauce pan and lid - all decent quality All-clad knockoffs from thrift stores. We usually carry some frozen home cooked items in the freezer ready to thaw and re-heat, so that helps a lot with both prep time and cleanup.

------=====> IMPORTANT NEWS <=====------ Spring Thaw 2023 is heading to Iowa! Due to major flooding at Blackhawk Park, our original plans are underwater. But thanks to some timely help from @KS Farm Girl , we've got an alternate location lined up. Let the adventure begin! Same dates - May 17-21, 2023 but now at Sugar Bottom Campground, near Cedar Rapids, IA. We had to cancel the riverboat tour, but all the rest of the fun is cued up and ready to go! Potluck! Cowboy breakfast!

Re: Smokeless fire pits are cool!

VigII ·
Frank, I fill mine with one 40 pound bag and use three Tumbleweeds to light it off. It will burn at full force for 1.5 hours. @Les1 saw this at Spring Thaw this year. It's impressive! You do not need the screen unless it's required. Pellets I've used don't throw sparks. Both pictures are full bag pellet fires. First one with heat diffuser in place.
