Re: B-D RV Battery Lock (12-volt)

Nice write up Jeff, and it looks like a good fit on your trailer. You are correct in that it won't stop a determined thief, not much will. But it will send the "crime of opportunity" type thief(s) on their merry way.... Erick

Jeff, it looks good, and nice write-up. It seems to fit the contours of the battery box just right. Did you have to bend the bracket, or did it come that way? Bruce

Excellent write up and photos Jeff. Thieves and electricity take the easiest path towards accomplishing their goal. Now if we could somehow combine the two, we'd have a lot fewer thieves running around stealing people's stuff.

Jeff, After reading your write-up, I'll be installing the Stableloads as well. One question--do you have a WDH? (Well....two questions) And if so, did you have to change the ball position on the hitch?

Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575

Red Barchetta ·
We recently switched TV's. We went from a more than adequate 2000 Lincoln Navigator with a self-leveling rear-end (air bags) which towed our 1575 easily straight and true to a more than adequate new-to-us 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab LTZ (V8, 5.3L, factory tow package, integrated brake controller, ...). *Here is the thread on our TV switch - http://lanceowners.hoop.la/top...ed-to-a-new-to-us-tv While the truck is much more than adequate to handle our small, skinny, & light 1575...

Re: VIAIR 400P Automatic Function Portable Compressor

Loren Jones ·
Erick, Great write up on the ViaAir I have been looking at this ViaAir 400P for sometime for my 2013 truck. I have an ExtremeAire compressor that I installed in 2004 that is been flawless in my 1999 Truck. I went through several smaller (read as broke) units before installing the ExtremeAire. I am wondering if anybody has used one of these ViaAir products over a say 10 year period and how has it held up? The downside of the ExtremeAire is the amount of power it draws and associated $$.

Hi Red, I've been reading through your thread re: the Trojan 30XHS battery set-up on your 1575. Thank you so much for such a thorough write-up, and I'm certain this is the route I will go with my 1575. I have one question which is probably pretty dumb; in the picture showing your Victron shunt attached to the battery - is it permanently installed there? Not being familiar with the battery box and actual size of the shunt, just can't tell if there is enough space once you put the lid on the...

Jeff, excellent write up. I look forward to hearing the results from your upcoming trip. I will also add, I really wish the holes were already there on my overload springs. The kit came with 4 drill bits. It took 3 of them to get the holes drilled........

Thanks Erick! The trip is in 10 days. I will definitely be giving these a solid test & a thorough review. All - Erick is referring above to springs that don't have factory stops (& holes) on the ends of the springs. Torklift has a kit for that. However, it sounds like drilling the holes isn't as quick and easy as Torklift makes it sound. Here is the kit - StableLoad Quick Disconnect (Lower Overload) Part #A7311 (With drill kit) - http://www.torklift.com/index....stableload#drilltool

Jeff, excellent write up and thanks for the photos. After looking at the two vids you posted regarding drilling the overload spring, I went out and checked what was underneath the Tundra. It will be interesting to see how they have engineered the kit for this truck as the overload spring rides against the main spring pack when the truck is in an unloaded state. Also, that overload spring is 5/8" thick! I guess I'll just have to wait and see what arrives. Here's a photo of my spring pack

Jeff, my initial reaction was one of "why". Having had experience with screen tents in the past and the PITA factor they added to any outing I was thinking why bother with that. After watching that video and seeing your excellent write-up I can now understand what all the hullabaloo is all about. What a fantastic product! I'm probably going to pass anyway because where we camp we rarely encounter bugs that would have us wanting to be inside an outside inside shelter. That includes our secret...

Thanks for the kind words on the write-up Erick & Randy. :-) It was easy because the product really is that darn good! We set it up & took it down a few times yesterday - it's that quick & simple. And if we have to put it away wet no big deal. 30 seconds back at home & it's up & drying. $11.00 each for the 3 panels seems like an additional good deal. We do camp with bugs that chase us in to the TT in the evenings & at night. Now we can eat in peace, not have bugs...

Bruce set it up easily by himself but he called me out to assist when he wanted to lift it over the top of a campsite picnic table. He might have even been able to do that alone...it's pretty solid when set up...but decided not to try. I hate screen rooms in general. I think they're kind of claustrophobic. But there...
