Water levels in O'Sullivan Reservoir (Potholes Reservoir) fluctuate dramatically from spring to fall. Launching a boat at a state park requires one of the following: An annual launch permit (Natural Investment Permit); or An annual Discover Pass and a daily launch permit; or A one-day Discover Pass and a daily launch...

The cost will be a donation, typically the ask if $5 per camping unit. This covers the cost of renting the pavilion ($80 total there) and anything else that we do as a group. We have not decided if there will be a potluck supper this year or not. I want to wait to see what the states are saying around that time frame. One suggestion has been a "Bring Your Own Supper" and join us in the pavilion to eat. That way no one has to worry about multiple people handling the same serving spoons, etc.

I like the "...bring your own supper*..." idea, but IMHO, I would think it would be Ok if folks wanted to bring something to share - like cookies, bars...etc. Hard to say what changes "they" might recommend between now and then. Outdoor events haven't been hampered much to date. "Easygoing...", I agree, folks should feel comfortable to just enjoy the weekend surrounded by fellow Lancers - whether that means gathering close with others, or connecting from a bit further away...either is fine.

You are coming to the right place for salt water activities. You might consider booking a few things well ahead of your departure. It is looking to be a very busy holiday season on Vancouver Island. On another topic. Coming up the I-5 though Bellingham and Blaine can be a driving nightmare. Consider peeling off the I-5 at Olympia and head to Port Angeles. The Black Ball Ferry MV Coho take you onto Vancouver Island and an easy drive up the highway to Parksville and all points north and West.

We have a month reserved on the island. Currently watching the ferry schedule and available booking dates. They must be released 5-6 months out??

Hi folks, our plans have changed and we will no longer be able to attend the Rally at Blackhawk Park. Reservations are for Thursday 5/18 - Sunday 5/21. We have site 53 reserved, should I just cancel? I arrived at the Duke Point terminal at 8:45 only to be told they were ticketing for the 3:15 sailing (with possible wait for the 5:45). But fortunately they were wrong in my favor. I nearly made the 10:15 and did make the 12:45 sailing. I am now home safe and sound. It was awesome meeting everyone and I want to join the chorus thanking Kelly for a wonderful rally.
