BIG E, Your new toilet the foot flush on ours in the 5'er is on the other side. The ball valve will act up with age. I am having to replace ours for the second. By the way the inside bowl is it plastic or china bowl? Ours is the china bow. Now the TC that is a different critter, does not hold its water it leaks through the slide mechanism straight into the black tank. Have you tried super fine steel wool to remove the rust stain on the floor. Just a thought I had. Nice work on the install...

Capt PJ- We put the same toilet in our 920, and if it works in our small bathroom, it will surely work in your's. We used the Low Profile model (Thetford 42170) because our toilet also sits on a raised platform (my legs still dangle a bit). Now that I've had the unit in use for a full year perhaps I can finish my review. The Nature's Head works by separating liquids and solids. The liquids are very high in nitrogen. You can pour them into any toilet. (Or around trees.) The solids are dried. As they dry, the bacteria die off. All that is left is fiber. The solids can go into the landfill. I looked at the installation videos and set of instructions that are on the Nature's Head web site and discovered that the 830 might not have enough room for an install. The width I have available is 19" and the unit is 17.4" wide. The literature shows that there is 2" needed for the sideward movement to unmount the toilet for it to be emptied. I saw them all a while back. I showed them to my DW last night. We are leaning toward Natures Head. It appears to have more what we are looking for. The big issue for me is can it easily convert to allow the liquids to dump into an on board tank. I'll probably end up calling when I get a chance. A few of the youtube videos we watched last night showed toilets that I wouldn't want to use. One was absolutely were filthy, and so was the language of the hostess.

I have a 1995 on order and want to install a Nature's Head composting toilet. Do you have any hints, comments, etc on the installation in the 1995? The bathroom is small and there isn't a lot of space around the standard toilet. Did you have any issues in getting it to fit? Ideally I would like this to be one of my first mods so that the black tank is "pristine"

And if your black tank vent is in a different location that would impact the installation as well. I am well into my second camping season with the toilet and am still completely satisfied with it.

I also have a composting toilet thanks to Kaypee, so far my wife and I love it, me mostly because it is a quick dump into a garbage bag after many days of use. Yes as a beer drinker I do have two urine liquid bottles. Some day we will have to figure the liquid intake/outgoing LOL. I have done mod's on our NH to make it bathroom friendly for a 1995 which are posted on the "resource forum". Our black tank has never used.

From what I've read in the Composting Toilet Installation post, it seems I need to order as follows: 1) Spider handle option for confined spaces. 2) Right-hand hinge 3) Extra urine tank (optional, but obviously handy!) Are there any other options from the manufacturer that you would recommend?

Back in September I changed out the stock toilet in our camper, a Thetford Aqua Magic V hand flush for a Thetford Aqua Magic Residence foot flush. We are fortunate here to camp year 'round. We dry camp 95% of the time. Much of that here in CA means no access to a dump station either. For example, our local SP cg is just 15 minutes away and we quite frequently run up there for spur-of-the-moment 1 or 2 night stays. It does not have a dump station. I bought the IllumiBowl from Kickstarter.com because I was not happy with my kids turning on the lights in our trailer in the middle of the night when they had to pee. It seemed like a simple solution for under$10. I’m really happy with my purchase so far. No more blinding lights at night and my kids love it.
