Re: Torklift International PowerArmor Solar – product and installation review
HAMSTERS!!!!! Great install report, Mike! Nice to see the new-generation 1575 has a wide battery bracket/tray to accommodate Torklift's PAS box. Much simpler to deal with than our first-gen. 1985!!! [slightly too narrow and close to the nose - req'ing any of several less simple options - see here: Torklift's New Power Armor Solar Battery Box ]. Still curious how and whether these PASes will fit onto the tongues of the other new-gen. Lances, what with the recessed battery tray under the new...

Torklift International PowerArmor Solar – product and installation review
A short while back someone asked what mods we would be looking to make in 2016. I mentioned I would like to make secure my two 12v Interstate batteries that are sitting on the tongue of our 1575. Shortly afterwards I was contacted by Kerstin at Torklift International who asked if I would like to evaluate one of their PowerArmor products for free. Of course I was more than happy to do so. I know that Plance has already documented a similar install but wanted to share my experience. Hopefully...

Re: Lone Pine, CA Rally
Far out.....this thing is getting huge! I sure hope it lives up to everyone's expectations. I've gotten word that Eric has left a voice mail with Barbara and there's two more who have indicated on the calendar that they have firmed up reservations. There were also a couple more who indicated interest along with the Lance owners, soon to become LOA members we met on the way down. We will be stopping there at Boulder Creek on the way home after Doheny and I will ask about another row of 8...

Re: Torklift glow steps for trailers
We volunteered to evaluate them but found out they aren't yet available to fit our Lance :-( We saw the new steps installed on a trailer at a local RV show last month. Bruce and I climbed in and out several times and were amazed at how stable they were...and more importantly how the trailer did not rock when one of us using the stairs. We sure hope the Glow Steps will be available soon!

Re: Bow to Stern (BTS) Protectant
Thanks for the compliments! To clarify, the Star Brite cleaner/wax restored the original factory shine albeit did not remove weathered discoloration nearly to the extent did BTS. Some Casita owners (not me but maybe some Lance owners here) resort to using stuff such as Poli Glow to restore sheen, which to me is simply like "glossing over" the problem rather than removing oxidation, restoring the original shine and then protecting it from the elements. BTS is claimed to do that with minimal...

Re: Solo Stove Bonfire
No, just a glow is all I see. The hole transects the double wall side of the pit just above the perforated interior base. This space produces the superheated air that spontaneously ignites any escaping smoke at the top of the pit, where one sees thee secondary burn in the op. The pit design produces so much draft the hole feeds air. However I do plug the hole with a electrical box knockout cover. I use a S-type cover because it's easy on/off.

Re: Solo Stove Bonfire
@Mitch5252 - nice little firepit you have there. I understand your fire timing predicament. I have that some thought this year and changed up my wood burning technique. I've read in the Solostove FB group of people using wood pellets so I have it a try in my Bonfire. I love it! I'm on my second 40 lb bag of pellets. I build a small traditional wood fire and let it get going. Then i dump a few cups of pellets along side the fire. The pellets' smoke really throws the afterburner flames which...

Re: Torklift GlowStep Revolution Evaluation - Part 1
Torklift GlowStep Revolution - Part 2 installation Before installing I read thru several excellent postings here on LOA by others on lessons learned. Was extremely helpful and appreciate the sharing of information. I also watched the Torklift installation videos which sure make the installation look easy (it kinda was lol). Installation took over 2 hrs and as I got tired the picture taking kinda got forgotten on some of the steps unfortunately. Getting started. As noted by others the first...

Torklift GlowStep Revolution Evaluation - Part 1
This past winter I was asked to be a product evaluator by Torklift. I agreed and in exchange was provided free of charge with a set of GlowSteps and a Glow Guide Handrail. I would like to thank TorkLift for being a forum supporter, having an evaluator program and providing me with an opportunity to participate in their program. After several months of cold, wet rainy weather and a major sciatica flair up I was finally able to install the steps. Since I have the factory 7” lift on my 1995 it...
