Re: Midland Weather Alert Radio

Doug, aka Atchafalaya Man ·
We had 2 Midland radios but got rid of them. The weather-alert alarm was so loud and scary sounding, we couldn't take the shock of hearing it go off. It was a high-low-high-low screech that sounded like a nuclear attack was imminent. And, we couldn't adjust the sound down to a lower volume so I just gave up on them. Our other weather radios have a warning 'tone' to alert you. We were able to select a single or few counties nearby to alarm when there was an alert. It reduced the number of...

Aaron, Cool bikes! Brownbear, excellent point about the ride with the small wheels. As well as being a little more "squirrely", I'd like to mention they also give a more "harsh" ride. Bicycle wheels provide a good amount of shock absorption, the smaller the wheel, the less shock absorption. While bicycle touring on Vancouver Island, I ran across several "rails to trails" (railroad lines turned into bicycle paths) which still had RR ties in place...those can give a good beating on a small...

On one of our test rides of a small-wheel folder, my wife failed to stand up going over one innocuous looking bump and limped around for several days afterward. I should have said "on our final test." After that experience, she wouldn't get on another.

Re: Why you want the Honda EU2200i Companion

The receptacles are 20 amp. Page 12 of the manual.(or look at the plug-NEMA 20 amp ) No need for the companion unless you are paralleling 2 generators or like the twistlok 30 amp plug.

That's a neat idea. Since everybody sleeps with their phone, now they can sleep with their thermostat control! I wonder if it works with two different phones? That way, the DW and I could do the battle of the thermostat overnight. D

Nice! Can you set this to heat and cool at the same time? For example, my smart thermostat at home allows me to set a high and low point, it turns the heat on when the inside temp dips to 65 and the ac on when the inside temp rises to 75. When camping we tend to use the AC to cool off the rig to put the kids to bed, even if the outside temps are dropping. We found on our last trip this meant when the overnight temps kept dropping we would wake up cold because when we went to bed the t-stat...

I don’t find it has that capability like a Nest. Basically, it’s able to Bluetooth to your phone or iPad all of the controls of the thermostat in a fancy app. The advantage is being able to not wake all the way up and trip over the dog to turn the heat on. I can open one eye, hit the app and the red flames icon and go back to sleep. Plus the large print color display is easy to see vs the factory.

Ok. Guess I'll stick with the stock thermostat for now. I can always (try) to make my wife do it (which means I'll get out of bed and do it). Thanks!

Sorry, I’ve been off grid. I believe it was $229. A little pricey solution. If people would stop purchasing this silly stuff, they would stop selling it!

The LOA also has this in our store. We will also sell it for the "Rally Price." We just cant advertise it for that price. Let me know in this thread if you want one and I will send you a code to get that price. The code will look something like this rallyprice or maybe exactly like that. https://lanceowners.org/produc...touch-rv-thermostat/

Micro-Air EasyTouch Rv Comfort Control

BrianJ ·
We’re staying at Boyd’s in Key West and found ourselves in the middle of a Airstream rally. Micro-Air was the primary vender and was pretty busy installing the EasyStart on the Shiny Trailers. Since we already have the EasyStart and I am a sucker for a “Rally Discount” I purchased a EasyTouch BT thermostat for our Lance. Yes, I know, a fool and his money are soon departed. However, I hate getting up in the wee hours stumbling over the dog to fiddle with the thermostat. The installation was a...

Brian J, one question. I have worked out all the little lights in the trailer at night (microwave, green usb, TV, and Jensen). Does this face turn down or off? It seems really bright.
