We just retired our Clam after about 3 years of use. Out of the 3 years it's probably been set up over half that time. We've used it at home, camping and gate guarding in South Texas. Understand the Texas sun is brutal as are summer storms. Overall this is a good product, easy, as said by others, to setup, good in higher winds if staked well. Been using this same rack for 3 years on our 2285. No issues. Do add a strap around the bikes and the upper ladder rung for extra support. Also did do two mods to make it more secure. One, a plywood face plate that slides onto the step behind the rack and provides a large contact area for the two foam bumpers instead of the bumpers sitting on the knife edge of the step. Two, straps that hold the rack tight to the ladder. Nylon webbings and two buckles from Home Depot.
