Re: Honda EU2000i Generator Review
Recently purchased a Hutch Mountain propane conversion kit for one of our two Honda gens. Anxious to install and gauge performance. Used one of two gens during a trip to Grand Canyon this past summer. Camping at higher elevations we found we did not need the 2nd gen since no A/C was necessary. We also use our gens as backup power for our home. We can run critical home circuits on one gen. Being able to tap into our 400 gallon propane heating supply makes this very handy for extended power...

Re: Torklift International PowerArmor Solar β product and installation review
HAMSTERS!!!!! Great install report, Mike! Nice to see the new-generation 1575 has a wide battery bracket/tray to accommodate Torklift's PAS box. Much simpler to deal with than our first-gen. 1985!!! [slightly too narrow and close to the nose - req'ing any of several less simple options - see here: Torklift's New Power Armor Solar Battery Box ]. Still curious how and whether these PASes will fit onto the tongues of the other new-gen. Lances, what with the recessed battery tray under the new...

Re: Informal Lance Get Together at Woods Canyon Lake AZ "Aspen Campground" - June 2018
Hey Tim, correct, none of the sites have electric and they do allow generators. We have solar panels but always bring the gen. Incase the suns not shining down on us. 118 is right across from us and is a nice deep site. Each site has a picnic table, grill and fire pit. If we donβt get more rain soon there may be fire restrictions comes June, how ever, we have a propane portable pit with lava rock and those are always allowed. Hope you can make it, not many site left!!! Rob π

Find me Spot (Spot Gen 3)
Woodglue turned me on to this device. https://www.amazon.com/Spot-Satellite-SPOT-Gen3-Messenger/dp/B00C8S8S4W/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 I bought one and paid for the annual monitoring ($150) and so far love it. I used it on my trip out to Chino Valley AZ and then to the mountains of Santa Fe. Both had no cell service. It basically receives AND transmits via satellite so you don't have to have cell reception to get rudimentary communications out. There are 5 buttons on the thing you...

Digital Video (MP4) on Lance Stereo / DVD
I have many DVD's and TV Shows ripped to digital video in .mp4or .mkv formats. I have a 2014 Lance 1191 with the Jensen entertainment system. Both the TV and the Stereo have USB connections, but alas, they don't play video, just some audio...

Re: Smarter Tools 2000iQ Generator
For only $600, out might be worth getting one, even if you do already have an on-board gen. Might be a lot quieter!

Re: Smarter Tools 2000iQ Generator
Don't be disappointed. Just get another and a parallel cable. Running the AC is pushing the extreme limitations of these gens. Even though you may get the AC to fire up, if you saw the accompanying voltage drop, you'd be realizing that even though it runs, who knows what kind of electrical component damage could result. I know another gen and cable will set you back approximately $700.00, you'll be sittin there with 3100 watts of power and should be able to run pretty much everything. How do...

Re: Smarter Tools 2000iQ Generator
Erick, I just received my covers Friday. Installed them Saturday and they are a real tight fit. But they do fit and fit well once you've worked them down over the Gen.

Re: Smarter Tools 2000iQ Generator
For those who specifically have the Smarter Tools 2000w g en...did you have trouble starting it up? I just tried it out for the first time (at home). We are not high altitude, so if that could make a difference, it doesn't here...it is brand new, just arrived from Costco yesterday (they don't carry it locally, so I had to order it). Put in the oil and new gas as directed. Followed the directions...yes, my son was helping me and we read the directions and did each step as indicated. After...

Re: Smarter Tools 2000iQ Generator
So here's where we are... 1. I turkey basted out about 1/4 of the tank of gas before restarting to assure I wouldn't be overfull. 2. Played with the choke as directed here. 3. My husband tried starting the gen as I read him the directions (didn't want to miss a step!). 4. We pulled off the side panel to check if there was a spark plug in the gen (there was). And nothing happened. Just a little blub, blub, blub. Completely emptied the gas tank (managed to get it the gas backinto our vehicle),...

I had wondered how and where to carry the gen (the 825 is very tight, not much room for one except maybe one specific compartment. And I worried about the smell...
