We have and use 2 large drying mats at home and really like them. On our current trip we found the perfect size for our counter extension. It was $8.00 at a local backpacking store. My wife modified it by sewing 2 small pieces of Velcro so that it doesn't blow off the screened side of the door handle when drying or fall off while in transit. I have the same dish but the older receiver. Rain kills mine. We use it at home as well. We just put the dish on the patio and move the receiver inside. My biggest complaint is rain. Maybe the new Wally receiver solved this. How long have you been using this setup and have you watched tv during rain?

I'm just asking... but wouldn't this be more of an antenna (dish) issue than a receiver issue? Joe

I think Joe is right. CORBIN have you checked the casing on your Tailgater for cracks or leaks? Do you have the rounded top Tailgater or the diamond shaped?

Joe and Havabrew. Yes it's shouldn't be the receiver. I've cleaned the Dish plastic and even waxed it. Rain kills it and I don't see any cracks. I guess the problem with owning the equipment, you can't send it back and get a new one (after warranty). Well, I guess if I'm the only one having this issue, it's my Tailgater.

Sorry to hear that your Tailgater is having issues in the rain. I hope you don't live or camp in the pacific northwest. I live and camp mostly in sunny SoCal, so rain is rarely an issue. Happy camping!

Yes, here’s the Directv link. You have to go thru one of their vendors, not sure if you can just add it to your home account. Equipment looks to be more expensive than Dish and you may have to lease the receiver vs. owning the Dish Receiver. Also, DirectTV will be discontinuing all SD service in February 2019. I’m not sure what all the current owners of the SD equipment are going to do but I imagine they will be switching to Dish.

It's all that and a bag of chips! It is compatible with Dish (in HiDef) DirecTV (Standard Def only) and Canada's Bell. Set up is a breeze, just hook up the RG6 cable to the little inlet on the side of the RV, and hook it in a 12v outlet, or do what I did and buy the 12v to 110 converter. Lee-Ann: Somewhere in here you were pondering about running the air conditioner using the camper's batteries. I didn't notice if anyone answered you. Running the A/C with the camper batteries is just not going to happen. Sure, the possibility is there, but you'd only run it for a few minutes before they were drained. I love mine too. I have the 110 volt adapter as well. I also store it under the bed when I'm traveling. I have DirecTV, so it's not high def., but I think the picture is quite good. I had the roof mounted automatic dish on the three motorhomes I had previously. Spent about $2500 each time and they work well, but if my camping site was in the trees, I was out of luck. I love that I can move the G2 around and find a spot with reception. A much cheaper solution that works.
