Re: Clam Six Pack 1660 Mag Screen Tent (or the Worlds easiest/fastest screen room)

R&V Spiker ·
We have been hauling our new Clam throughout the PNW. Set it up once at the SCIO rally just to check it out and reaffirm I could pop it up in less than 5 minutes. LOL This screen room is a great mosquito repellent. They seem to see it laying on the table and fly away. Since purchasing this Clam, mosquitos have been pretty much non existent. When we were at Fort Stevens SP, someone had a very similar structure that came from Cabelas. Same pop out panels and roof but it also had window flaps...

Thetford 550P porta potti - For quick dry camping trips with no dump station access

Red Barchetta ·
We are fortunate here to camp year 'round. We dry camp 95% of the time. Much of that here in CA means no access to a dump station either. For example, our local SP cg is just 15 minutes away and we quite frequently run up there for spur-of-the-moment 1 or 2 night stays. It does not have a dump station. Nor is there a dump station anywhere in between our house and there. Our local fairgrounds does have a dump station and it's only $5.00, but it is out of our way and really silly to have to...

Re: SUMMER CAMPING IN OREGON RALLY

Camelot ·
Greetings! We left home yesterday and arrived here at Patrick's Point SP IN Trinidad CA for one night. It rained a little bit overnight, so unfortunately that put a slight damper on our hike this morning. In a couple of ours we're set to leave for Sunset Bay SP near Coos Bay. We'll be here until Friday. See you all on Friday!

Re: Advanced Elements Lagoon 2 inflatable recreational tandem kayak

Gd - Good to hear. Although I imagine drying is key to all inflatable kayaks. Not just AE. Enjoy Tahoe! Our youngest son (19) is there now (with one of our life jackets) camping in Meeks Bay with his gf's family in their mega triple axle TH. While paddling around Emerald Bay be sure to tie-up at the Emerald Bay SP boat/hike-in cg dock and explore.

Re: Advanced Elements Lagoon 2 inflatable recreational tandem kayak

Glasdriver ·
We're spending eight wonderful nights at the boat camp over the 4th... our annual trip. We boat in with our Chaparral runabout and bring the inflatable kayaks and paddleboards to meander around the bay. Also, we need the kayak to get to/from the boat when it's on the buoy. We set up a mondo glam-camp, complete with hot shower. In 2014, we spent a total of four weeks (two two-week stays) at the camp; the best trip ever. Wife said "enough" though, so we're down to the eight night stay these days.

Gd - Nice! We have stayed there twice, but the last was in 2009. John McCain (AZ senator) stayed one night while we were there. Another time my favorite camping/outdoors writer - Tom Stienstra - was there. Meeting Tom was a treat for sure! We now stay at Sugar Pine Point SP when in the area. Enjoy your stay!!!

Jackalope, Please accept my apology for not seeing your post earlier. I have watched the 1st Annual Great Plains Gathering thread daily, but have forgotten to watch this one. Most of the activity is on that thread. Anyway, I am glad you were able to snag that spot, and I'm looking forward to seeing you there. You may want to read what is on that thread if you have the time. It is quite lengthy. Here is a recap of the events and instructions. It's fairly loosely organized. Thursday Sept. 21:...

Re: Great Anti Corrosion and Lube Product

Red Barchetta ·
I second the mention! Been using it on my mountain bikes for years. Dry season I use it every other ride. Wet season - like now - I use it before every ride. Super muddy ride yesterday up in Annadel SP. Bike is a mess, but not my chain & mechanisms. Will be spraying it on again this afternoon before my ride. Posting tip - You might consider putting the product name in the thread title.

R&V Spiker ·
Jeff, just curious to hear your opinion...do you think this stuff could be used on the Schwintek Slide mechanism instead of the dry lube with PTFE? I like the fact that it sticks well to the parts coated but am concerned with the paraffin wax as the main lubricant.
