Re: Torklift battery box initial review

Steam_Guy ·
I installed mine late last week after returning from an 850 mile excursion with my 1985. I agree with your review 100%, including the part that "I'm very happy with it". I like it because everything goes into the box and there is plenty of room, and it only needs one function to unlock it versus undoing the box straps. I purchased the box designed for two six volt batteries even though I'm running two group 24's. I also replaced the locks (plural because I also own the propane lock system,...

Great Anti Corrosion and Lube Product

Doug P ·
Oops, I had originally posted this in the wrong Forum area... A fellow Lance member pointed me to the correct Forum..... I wanted to share this product with fellow Lance owners. About 20 years ago I came across this product at a bike show for lubricating parts on a racing bike. I have used this product ever since to lubricate and protect about anything that is made out of bare metal. This product was developed for Boeing aircraft to lubricate and protect metal hinges and other items on an...

The following is an unsolicited unpaid product endorsement of Bow to Stern (BTS) Protectant...   As mentioned in my prior thread linked below, my plan had been to use BTS in combo with partial coverage (shade cloth) over my Lance 1685 TT to...

Re: Bow to Stern (BTS) Protectant

Thanks for the compliments! To clarify, the Star Brite cleaner/wax restored the original factory shine albeit did not remove weathered discoloration nearly to the extent did BTS. Some Casita owners (not me but maybe some Lance owners here) resort to using stuff such as Poli Glow to restore sheen, which to me is simply like "glossing over" the problem rather than removing oxidation, restoring the original shine and then protecting it from the elements. BTS is claimed to do that with minimal...

UPDATE Completed the job today with great results, other than certain areas of baked graphics. Did the cleaner/wax routine twice to frontal area and street side areas not done yesterday, then applied BTS 3 times with brief drying periods between and buffed as last step. All areas of white siding really do look as new which is amazing since this trailer has never been covered nor detailed since new Feb 2011. BTS helped those decal graphics "pop" except for gold tone stripes exposed to...

Well I owe you one... I was prepping the camper for our trip tomorrow. Just a local trip to a state park camping with my wife's family. There will be an Airstream and an Oliver there so I had to have the Lance looking sharp. I decided this evening that I would clean the front of the camper... well... I used three different cleaners, polishes, and wax and each one seemed to get worse for blotches and swirls. I was getting extremely frustrated and remembered seeing this post so I went online...

Re: waxing front of lance trailer

Mac 51 ·
I have used a product called Bow-to-Stern on my 2016 1685 from the beginning (it was mentioned in LOA discussions back when I was wondering what to use). It applies very easily, has protected the surfaces well from aging in the sun, and is designed for fiberglass boat protection which makes it well suited for the both the sides and front of the trailer since they are really plastic products. It produces a nice shine after about the third application, less so until then, but bugs and things...

You don't want a super aggressive rubbing compound, but with dirt embedded, has to come off somehow to get a good finish. I would not use 3M Perfect It Heavy Cutting Compound, for example. But a mild cleaner should be ok. Griots has an entire range of products, from very mild to moderate. BTW, Griots has a 20% off sale through June 27th on all liquids, code EMGBFB

Thank you for the footwork. There are so many products out there it was a bit confusing. This seems like an appropriate product. I ordered on Amazon, this weekend's project.

I called Lance tech's about this waxing problem. They use McGuires Cleaner/Wax for fiberglass. Absolutely positively made all the difference! Completely shined up the front of our 2016 2295 looks like new.

The receptacles are 20 amp. Page 12 of the manual.(or look at the plug-NEMA 20 amp ) No need for the companion unless you are paralleling 2 generators or like the twistlok 30 amp plug.

Unique Tank Sensor Cleaner

Tom & Janice 2465 ·
On our last trip, RITV, we experienced problems with our black tank sensors. Last year we started using Unique treatment for the black tank. Due to the problems we recently experienced, we decided to try the Unique Tank Sensor cleaner. After filling the black tank to the top I used 1/2 bottle of the Unique Tank Sensor cleaner and let it sit for 7 days. After emptying the tank and giving it an additional rinse, I measured the amount of water installed in the tank. The sensor measured...

Not full timing but on the road about 9 months a year since 2014. I use to always use Pure Power Blue except when I couldn't find it, then it would be what ever RV tank cleaner I could find. Lately I've been trying the Happy Camper that a lot here uses. My results are as long as you properly flush your tanks it doesn't matter what you use.

I just visited the Unique website and they recommend using at least 20 oz of Dawn Ultra in the gray water tank to clean it. Their sensor cleaner product works great to dissolve organic waste in the black water tank, but grease and soap scum build-up are the main issues in the gray water tank. https://uniquecampingmarine.co...k-sensors-in-your-rv

Black water tank: Every second dump add a half cup of Borax dissolved in 4 pints (a kettle full) of hot water then add half cup of Dawn. Grey water tank: Every second dump add a half cup of Borax dissolved in 4 pints (a kettle full) of hot water then add half cup of Zep (Heavy duty Citrus degreaser & cleaner) Never had sensor problems. Someone said they use 2 big bottles of Coke and leave for a day then all sensors work ok again.

This product indicates that it is to be used as a sensor cleaner in the black water tank but can it also be used in the grey water tank to clean those sensors as well?

Re: 2013 Lance 2385

KS Farm Girl ·
Our 1885 is listed as a 2014, but was built in 2013. Our slide very likely is the same as your 2385. What are you needing to know? We did have to have the slide bolted into the wall as it had an issue with the frame pulling away from the outer wall. We did lighten the load in the drawers to less than 50 lbs each, which is what Lance recommends, this includes the outer storage area. Otherwise, we haven't had problems with it. Attached is Lance's 2013 brochure that may give you some info.

Re: Battle Born LFP Battery Capacity Test

Nutman ·
Since I went with lithium house batteries, a portable power station, and solar charging, I have been discovering options to do things differently……., for example, when boondocking or dry camping I appreciate being able to reduce dependence on propane for cooking or other things. I no longer need to run the propane generator if I need 120vac for most things. Although I use the microwave for the majority of my hot meals, I’m currently thinking seriously about buying an induction cooktop. I...

We too have a coffee maker, toaster hair dryer and vacuum cleaner; we don't usually carry a crock pot or instant pot but sometimes if the outing requires it we do. And of course I have fast charger for my Dewalt tools I carry. We use the microwave a lot too. We enjoy camping a lot, but a 72 years old we no longer relish roughing it but doing things the easy way.

Adios professional enzyme holding tank cleaner

ADIOS! RV Black Tank Cleaner - Unclogs Plugs and Drains, Stops Odors, Cleans and Maintains Holding Tanks (32 oz) Here is my take. I bought this on Amazon because the black tank sprayer didn’t work. After checking the plumbing parts, I determined that the nozzle was clogged. I followed the directions and after waiting the recommended 24 hours, I drained it after verifying the sprayer once again worked. I am happy again. During our last trip our blank tank was super funky on the first night after driving 200 miles in 100+ temps. I added a bunch of the Unique toilet cleaner, which was all I had on hand but has the same microbes as the tank treatment, along with several gallons of fresh water before our 250 mile drive to the next stop. The smell was much better when we arrived. I went to Ace the next day and found the Unique tank treatment. I added a few ounces and the tank had zero smell for the rest of the...

Any information on what to use on the acrylic windows? I have a 2075 and would like to know what is the best cleaner and protector. Will the McGuires Cleaner/Wax work on the windows like on the fiberglass skin?

Re: waxing front of lance trailer

No, the abrasives in a cleaner wax will probably result in a hazy window. You want to use a plastic polish on plastic; it has much finer abrasives. Something like this: https://www.griotsgarage.com/plastic-all-in-one/
