TST cap sensors battery replacement

Millerfamily04 ·
After the 4 months that the trailer was parked for winter, 2 of the TST tire pressure sensor caps did not register pressures. Thanks to the manual I had bought sensor batteries year ago. Sounded easy, unscrew little screws replace battery replace cap protector and they would sync themselves. How many of us carry a 00 Phillips head screwdriver? Ran to Tractor supply, got the protective caps removed, screws out battery replaced and the O rings (makes the internal sensor waterproof) completed...

That is a little disappointing that TST did not refer you to the LOA store. We are a preferred dealer of the TST products and we even have our own custom battery replacement kits that come with everything you need. We even sell them as a 4 pack or 5 pack if you have a monitored spare. We also use only Duracell batteries. Maybe next time you replace them. If you ever want to upgrade your sensors, we have those too. Either way... I am glad you got it handled. ...

Buy the battery kit from the LOA store and a screw driver comes with the batteries, along with instructions. And, it help LOA. I do have a 0 and 00 Philips screw driver, aviation tech for 40 years. If Snap On made it I have it.

Instead of changing sensor batteries every year, I decided to see how long the batteries would last. I installed six 507 sensors upon taking delivery of my F450 in April 2019…….., so it’s been 3 years and 40,000 miles on the same set of batteries. All is well, no low sensor battery indication on the monitor and no lost communication.

Eric: does the LOA store sell a 5-cap system? I couldn’t find it through the link you included.

I’m chicken, I went 2 years with my TireMinder once but since the batteries are free, not postage, I replace them when they inform me it’s time to order batteries.

@Eric dye I was bummed that they referred me out , because the customer service was very poor for TechnoRV. I called 4 times and was placed on hold in one hour so left a voice mail, chat mail, and email message to Techno RV. I got a response from the voicemail. I’d rather stay with in the family!which is where I bought it to begin with. Unaware you did customer service after warranty expiration. good heads up!

Looks like LOA does not currently stock 5 cap systems… maybe new item or special order? https://lanceowners.org/product-category/tpms/

(Editing my earlier response) There is now a 5 Sensor replacement Kit. The per sensor price is the same as the 4 Sensor Kit but with 5 Sensors.

TST 770

Slotown ·
We recently purchased a TST 770 during Prime Days. Read the instructions and installed all six of the valves (four trailer, two truck). It works great and settings were very easy to modify/change for my vehicles (F350 and 1985 Lance). It is a little slow to pick up all six of the valve core sending units. I do have a question. Instructions indicate I need to install the signal booster or I may void the warranty. It suggests the tongue as to were to mount it. My question is the battery box is...

Thanks all! I placed mine on the passenger side battery box. There was a bus bar in there so I did not have to hook directly to the battery terminals. I thought it might connect more quickly to the monitor in the cab, but it still took a long time.

I put my booster on the center of the outside front wall, hidden just below the top of the propane tank cover. I ran the wire down to the 7 pin cable junction box that is under the TT near the front.

We purchased and installed the TST 507 last year in our 2022 - 1995. I installed the booster inside the curbside battery box. Simple installation - connect the wires and fasten to the wall. I have has no issues with this install. I just read the manual and it states to install in the battery box on the front of the trailer. I would consider the enclosed battery boxes to be in front of the trailer, just a little higher.

That's where I installed mine (roadside batt box). Connected directly to battery along with a small toggle switch on the + lead. Works perfectly.

Here is a monitor mounting solution that works extremely well. It is called a 4 Prong Richter Mount with Tilt and Swivel. It is available from ProClip (proclipusa.com) PN 215058. ProClip will also supply a vehicle mount for your specific vehicle. The TST monitor simply slides down onto the mount. ProClip products are usually $29.99 ea but you can usually find a promo code to at least cover shipping. Not exactly cheap but a very clean solution.

No problemo. I know you will like the ProClip stuff. Just be sure to follow their instructions to the letter. Bill
