Genius Clear Water Systems (Out of Business...)
UPDATE 9/8/16: Appears to have gone out of business... We have had the opportunity this summer to try out two new filtration products from Genius Clear Water Systems: WaterShield In-line Filter , an in-line ceramic fresh-water supply filter with strainer and the WaterShield Ceramic Element Showerhead with built-in ceramic filter and strainer. These can be used in our RVs while camping and also at home in domestic applications such as filtering the drinking water supply and for...

Re: PowerAll PBJS12000R Rosso Red/Black Portable Power Bank and Car Jump Starter
Interesting. I agree with BMJ that 20 starts off a single charge is a bit on the optimistic side. However, most of the Amazon reviews are VERY positive so what the heck, give it a try and see how it fly. I must say that if it does perform as advertised, the size to power ratio is pretty impressive.

Re: Why you want the Honda EU2200i Companion
The receptacles are 20 amp. Page 12 of the manual.(or look at the plug-NEMA 20 amp ) No need for the companion unless you are paralleling 2 generators or like the twistlok 30 amp plug.

Re: 2013 Lance 2385
Our 1885 is listed as a 2014, but was built in 2013. Our slide very likely is the same as your 2385. What are you needing to know? We did have to have the slide bolted into the wall as it had an issue with the frame pulling away from the outer wall. We did lighten the load in the drawers to less than 50 lbs each, which is what Lance recommends, this includes the outer storage area. Otherwise, we haven't had problems with it. Attached is Lance's 2013 brochure that may give you some info.

Re: Soft Start for Generator
Yes, that HF 3500 watt Predator gen just works. Yeah, it works great until asked to perform in hot environs. I've personally witnessed two that overheated and couldn't handle a 13.5k A/C unit and that was all that was asked of it. The internet also finds many complaints in this regard. It's unfortunate...such hope and promise. Bottom line is again..."ya get what you pay for".

Trickle charge batteries in storage
PRODUCT: SUNER POWER 12V Solar Battery Charger Maintainer, Waterproof 20W Solar Trickle Charger, High Efficiency Solar Panel Kit, Built-in Intelligent MPPT Co ntroller. REPORT: I live in a condominium, and there is no power access at my storage facility, so when I winterized my model 1575 with two AMG 100 amp hour batteries, I had to figure out a way to keep them healthy with trickle charge. My solution, this 20 W solar trickle charger. I mounting it to my front hitch, and I plugged it into...

Re: Trickle charge batteries in storage
This looks great!! Do you need 2 solar battery maintainers to maintain two batterries?? Also, does the charger adjust to two 6 volt batteries as well as a 12 volt?

Re: Trickle charge batteries in storage
Thanks to everyone for either the thumbs up or the comments. As a new V to RV, all of this is A workout, but this solution for trickle charging and storage is likely to work for a long time. If anyone sees a TV With the tag "DRMIKE," or a Model 1575 with the decal "Lancelot," Please stop by and say Hi.

Re: Trickle charge batteries in storage
There are several different solar chargers on the market That are typically 10 watt for one 100 amp hour battery. Whether it makes a difference if it is 6 volts or 12 volts, AMG or Lithium, I don't think it matters. Because I have two 100 amp/hour AMG batteries, I selected the 20 watt solar panel. But the real advantage for this particular 20 watt solar panel was the preinstalled bracket That allowed me to adjust the angle of the solar panel. Further, it has a Built-in charge controller, and...

Re: Trickle charge batteries in storage
For those that have shore power available but don't want to leave the RV plugged in all the time, and option is to insert an inexpensive (...like 10 bucks...) 'coffee pot timer' into an outlet and plug in the camper (or a separate battery charger). Once or twice a day it will kick on for the period you desire and then go to sleep for the rest of the day. The next day it repeats its cycle. Prior to the popularity of smart chargers or trickle chargers, we used these for years on our boats,...

27K Mile Tire Review: Michelin Agilis CrossClimate
Discount Tire rotated and balanced the Michelin Agilis CrossClimate all-weather tires (LT275/70R18E 125/122) on our 2019 F-350 last week. The tires now have 27K miles on them, mostly while carrying our TC. After 27K miles and regular rotations, the tread depth has worn evenly from 12.5/32” to 8/32”. If I run them down to 4/32”, then I should get 51K miles out of them. If I bottom them out at 2/32”, then 63K. The tires performed wonderfully when we crossed paths with the Texas snow and ice...

Ultra-Fab Phoenix 4000 tongue jack
I recently replaced our Smart Jack with the Ultra-Fab Phoenix 4000 . Common sense should have had me going with the Husky, but the claims of faster speed and the 10 year warranty were too strong to resist. I'm weak like that 😉 We have just used the Phoenix on two trips and in the driveway, but my impression is positive so far. The jack is, indeed, very fast. So fast that it has taken some getting used to to operate in smoothly. The sound level is comparable to the Smart Jack. It does shine...

Finally, a Tongue Jack worth talking about
Like many of you, I've had a love/hate relationship with the Lippert "Smart Jack" that came installed on our Lance trailers. I loved the memory features...BIG TIME! That said, the memory function was never spot on and couldn't be counted on when recalling the set height after unhooking the trailer. I found myself always having to get out and check before docking. The hate relationship was in regards to the reliability and I have read many posts from others expressing the same concerns. The...

Re: Smokeless fire pits are cool!
I also questioned the what all may be in the pellets. From what I have been able to learn in the past months; The binder, or adhesive, used to make pellets is the natural lignins that are present in wood. The lignins are activated by heat. If the pellets get wet, they quickly dissolve to a mush and turn back to sawdust when dry. So far (this summer), all the cheap heating pellets that we have bought (here in Michigan) have been labeled as 100% hardwood. Mostly we buy at Tractor Supply...
