Recently ran into a Lance owner with a Auto Weave Upholstery cover for the front window of their 1986. We are considering getting one. Seemed well made. Would love to hear what others think of the this item.

You can buy them right here on our site.  And because you are a lifetime member, you get a discount.  Use code  LOACOVER23  at checkout for a discount.

You can get them here:

It will take about 3 weeks to receive after ordering.  Mine just arrived a couple days ago.  Looking forward to cover my busted front window (hopefully my 2017.5 1995 replacement front window will arrive in the next 6-8 weeks).  I did not see where to put in the Discount.  Maybe that discount is no longer available.  I paid the full $325 + about $30 shipping.

I just ordered one of these based on the recommendations here on the forum. I am terrified of those acrylic windows and don't even dare to wash them. I've been worried about rocks hitting that front one since I got the camper a year ago. I didn't know about these covers. Thanks for the info!

I use a snap removal tool (the below one) to remove the AutoWeave cover on our 1685.  It extends my reach, and makes removal a "snap" (pardon the pun).  By the way, during our Alaska trip this past Spring the cover was hit a few times with rocks thrown up by passing vehicles (not to mention mud and countless splattered bugs).  The window suffered no damage.

After noticing a tiny stone chip 4 years ago, I was able to repair the chip to 99% invisibility.  We immediately bought and use our Auto Weave cover everytime we hit the road.  Not a single chip or mark on the front window since.   Initial installation took no more than 30 minutes.  Yet another simple mod in the pursuit of Happy Camping!

We have had ours for a while and love it unfortunately those "permanent" 3m double sided disks that mount the snaps onto the surface of the travel Trailer around the window come off after a season (in our case extreme cold and heat).

We cleaned and installed them properly; it's just the weather and temps eventually degrade the 3m disks until those plastic snaps pop off the surface when the cover is pulled off and need to be reaffixed with new double sided 3m disks.

I'm almost at the point of using something stronger than the 3m tape, something like a marine epoxy glue to affix them.

This is highly unusual.  There are many owners in AZ that have had covers and snaps on for 4+ Years with no issues.  It could be that yours had a bad batch of adhesive, especially if they all fell off.  I think autoweave may warranty the snaps.

I have also heard of this happening when the trailer was ceramic coated, waxed or other paint/fiberglass protection.  These coatings are not removed by cleaning with alcohol or other regular cleaners and the 3m tape cant stick.

Let me know if you want the LOA to help with a warranty claim.

I'll give the snap removing tool a try.  It actually may help because the snap is what is popping off without the 3m adhesive disk.  The snaps are intact.  Basically the Auto Weave cover comes off with the snaps attached and leaves the 3m disk behind still attached to the TT. Trying to reattach to the disk doesn't work, you need to clean the 3m disk off the TT body and replace it again.  Never knew there was snap lube either so I'll try both.  Thanks!

Will this Auto Weave front window cover fit my 2019 with a glass front window? We live in the desert with extreme heat and I'm wondering if the snaps will stay attached. I noticed on our 2nd stop the hole in my window, 35 yards of clear gorilla tape is holding it together till we get a new one installed in a couple of months. Thanks for any info you have.

Yes the cover LOA offers will protect and cover your window.  As long as the proper procedure is followed when the snaps are installed they will stay put.  The tape used is the same adhesive used to hold on automotive trim and logos.

We use the tool shown above. It applies pressure down as the snap pulls up.  No pressure on the glue.  When we set up we unsnap all but the top row and just roll the cover under itself while standing on the tongue.  Works well. I just wish we purchased the cover BEFORE we paid $760 to replace a broken window.

VERY HAPPY

I remove the cover every time we stay somewhere.  Our cats love looking out that front window.  Yep, I'm still limber enough to climb up on the hitch with a shoe on top of each WDH L-bracket to put cover on and off.  Guess when I get too old for that I'll carry a small step ladder.

I am 59 and I have been carrying a step ladder for years. 🤣

I am ordering the window cover as soon as the dealer says our unit has arrived.

One tip I learned...  If you install the Auto Weave window cover when it is warm, do not stretch it too tight during the installation or it will be very difficult to install in cold weather because it shrinks when it's cold.  Ideally leave it just loose enough that it can be snapped in place when both cold or warm but not too loose that it moves around.  We discovered being too tight also contributed to our snaps coming off the TT which we corrected when we replaced our snaps with new 3M VHB Disks.
