Lenovo T560 ThinkPad, A Laptop For Camping
Disclaimer, this post is for those who like to stay connected while traveling/camping, which I know not everybody does..... We were in search of a laptop with extended battery life to use while traveling/camping. The searching brought me to the Lenovo T560. This laptop has 2 batteries, one is built in and the other is removeable. Having two batteries means you can hot swap the removable battery, which also comes in different sizes. Choosing the larger (72 watt hour) removable battery gives...

Re: Trojan 30XHS 12-volt group 30 deep-cycle battery (130 AH)
Cris and Krista, the question about equalozing is a good one. I am not an expert, but I do think Imhave a good answer. Of course, the Lance supplied charge controller does not provide an equalizing charge comparible with this Trajan battery. And batteries are all, different in terms or bulk, float and equalize charge requirements. So no matter what battery you have, it most likely is not truly compatible with the charge controller. The equalize charge is a special case on 12 flooded cell and...

Koolatron W75 Kool Wheeler
We've had This Guy since before we got the Lance (2013). It's proved really good at keeping things cool, with an up to 40 degrees difference between outside temps and cooler temps. It draws about 5 amps at 12 VDC, so a 100 watt solar panel can keep up with it, and even as an unpowered cooler, it's well insulated. We got the Koolatron 110 volt adapter, which has just this last trip failed, and we're testing a generic 10 amp replacement, which seems to be working well. We also got the...

Micro-Air Easy Start--install and 2000 watt Generator
Received and installed a Micro-Air Easy Start 364 today. It took me about 45-50 minutes from unpacking to completion—before the Micro-Air learning cycles. Our Yamaha 2000i started the Coleman 13,500 right away and ran fine. We’re at about 5700 ft. Thanks to Micro-Air and the others on LOA who led the way and inspired me. Micro-Air installation instructions (the guide on their web site) are excellent and having their installation kit was convenient. We have rarely used air and often don’t...
