Re: Clam Six Pack 1660 Mag Screen Tent (or the Worlds easiest/fastest screen room)

Jerry101 ·
We just retired our Clam after about 3 years of use. Out of the 3 years it's probably been set up over half that time. We've used it at home, camping and gate guarding in South Texas. Understand the Texas sun is brutal as are summer storms. Overall this is a good product, easy, as said by others, to setup, good in higher winds if staked well. Downsides are the material has suffered badly in the sun, does and has always leaked at the roof seams ( not bad, but enough to be annoying), and...

The camera is magnetic. When hitching, I put it on the tailgate of the truck, and it makes backing up for hitching a snap. When backing the TT, I move the camera to the rear bumper of the TT, and it gives me a full view of everything behind the TT. Using the camera, I often get the TT out of...

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575

Red Barchetta ·
Giles - No WDH/sway control with our small/light properly loaded/balanced 1575. Just the coupler on the ball. I did not have to change the ball height. The StableLoads when installed correctly keep the rear end at about the same height when there is nothing hitched up. You are ALWAYS welcome to stop by and see my setup in person. If you have any questions fire away. Does your truck already have the silly factory circular stops installed? If so, you won't need to drill anything which is a...

Yeah, the stops are installed so it should be a piece of cake thanks to your in depth descriptions and pictures! I fear I am going to have to go through and re-adjust the ball height. When I put the trailer on the ball it sags quite a bit. The WDH helps a bit and brings things level, but I think I'd like to see what effect these Stableloads will have. I'm open to readjusting the ball height if it eliminates the sag; if I can keep it level; and if it tows better (which will be wonderful--it...

Re: king VQ4500 Tailgater for Dish Network with Wally Recevier

Corbin ·
I have the same dish but the older receiver. Rain kills mine. We use it at home as well. We just put the dish on the patio and move the receiver inside. My biggest complaint is rain. Maybe the new Wally receiver solved this. How long have you been using this setup and have you watched tv during rain?

I'm just asking... but wouldn't this be more of an antenna (dish) issue than a receiver issue? Joe

I think Joe is right. CORBIN have you checked the casing on your Tailgater for cracks or leaks? Do you have the rounded top Tailgater or the diamond shaped?

Re: Cabela's Roll-Top Dining Table

Red Barchetta ·
James and anyone else interested - I finally took some pictures 2 days ago. Pardon the very basic camp setup (no tent-end deployed, very few items out, no awning, ...) as I was camping solo, hanging out in the next site with some pretty awesome camping neighbors, and had to wake up early today to get to work (where I am headed to once I post this).

We've now had this table for almost a year and absolutely love it. Super-fast setup & takedown. Sturdy. Stores easily. 5 out of 5 stars. No regrets.

Love mine also. Use it to do a manual regen when I'm on long stretches. Right now I have setup as 5 gauge. EGT 1, EGT 4, soot grams, eurea milage and boost.

What an outstanding, memorable weekend!! Rob, you hit it out of the park! As you probably assumed, I was intrigued by your photography and the ham radio setup you had up there. It was absolutely fascinating watching your efforts to get the best shots of the birds and the communication with folks all over the western hemisphere via your radio and wire set up in the trees! I truly enjoyed the weekend!!!

Find me Spot (Spot Gen 3)

Woodglue turned me on to this device. https://www.amazon.com/Spot-Satellite-SPOT-Gen3-Messenger/dp/B00C8S8S4W/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 I bought one and paid for the annual monitoring ($150) and so far love it. I used it on my trip out to Chino Valley AZ and then to the mountains of Santa Fe. Both had no cell service. It basically receives AND transmits via satellite so you don't have to have cell reception to get rudimentary communications out. There are 5 buttons on the thing you...

Advanced Elements Lagoon 2 inflatable recreational tandem kayak

Red Barchetta ·
We've hemmed and hawed for 7 years or so on getting a kayak. Hard shell? Sit-on-top? Inflatable? Transporting? Solo or tandem? ?? We've rented at least 20 kayaks over the years and still couldn't make up our minds. In fact GRUMPA, BMJ, myself, and a few others have gone around and around about the subject here on LOA for 4 or 5 years. GRUMPA & BMJ both bought inflatables - Sea Eagle's (sweet kayaks!) - while we kept languishing over the choices and our needs. Well, we finally decided to...
