RV Sleeping Systems Shootout, Bedmaid vs. RV Superbag
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, our RV Superbag arrived. We have been using a Bedmaid for a few years and have now slept in both and can comment as to the qualities each provides. Bedmaid $239.00 We have thoroughly enjoyed this product. The added ease it affords when folding up the bed and deploying the convertible sofa is a real hit. The sheet is removable for washing and attaches to the comforter with velcro strips. The comforter has two sides, one for winter that is thicker and the other...

The camera is magnetic. When hitching, I put it on the tailgate of the truck, and it makes backing up for hitching a snap. When backing the TT, I move the camera to the rear bumper of the TT, and it gives me a full view of everything behind the TT. Using the camera, I often get the TT out of...

Re: Thetford Aqua Magic Residence RV Toilet
BIG E, Your new toilet the foot flush on ours in the 5'er is on the other side. The ball valve will act up with age. I am having to replace ours for the second. By the way the inside bowl is it plastic or china bowl? Ours is the china bow. Now the TC that is a different critter, does not hold its water it leaks through the slide mechanism straight into the black tank. Have you tried super fine steel wool to remove the rust stain on the floor. Just a thought I had. Nice work on the install...

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575
Jeff, After reading your write-up, I'll be installing the Stableloads as well. One question--do you have a WDH? (Well....two questions) And if so, did you have to change the ball position on the hitch?

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575
Giles - No WDH/sway control with our small/light properly loaded/balanced 1575. Just the coupler on the ball. I did not have to change the ball height. The StableLoads when installed correctly keep the rear end at about the same height when there is nothing hitched up. You are ALWAYS welcome to stop by and see my setup in person. If you have any questions fire away. Does your truck already have the silly factory circular stops installed? If so, you won't need to drill anything which is a...

Yeah, the stops are installed so it should be a piece of cake thanks to your in depth descriptions and pictures! I fear I am going to have to go through and re-adjust the ball height. When I put the trailer on the ball it sags quite a bit. The WDH helps a bit and brings things level, but I think I'd like to see what effect these Stableloads will have. I'm open to readjusting the ball height if it eliminates the sag; if I can keep it level; and if it tows better (which will be wonderful--it...

Re: Dometic LP GasChecker (LPGC10)
Haha! Same here. I do have one fake tooth (still wish I had caught that fly ball in my glove instead of my face out in centerfield when I was 11) that will still be around. Although the buzzards, maggots, & worms may eat that as well and "pass" it around occasionally.

Re: VIAIR 88P Portable Air Compressor
Nice memory, great players. Although I believe you meant "Nothing but net". I can remember going to quite a few Warriors games where the home crowd was chanting "Air ball!" after yet another missed Warriors' shot.

You're probably right, I just remember if you made a hook shot from out in court and it swished through. You would lift your hands up and, go nothin but air, maybe that was being sarcastic.

We also were able to see the Oakland Raiders come and play our teachers and coaches in basketball,at SLV high. John Madden had a condo at the Boulder Creek golf course and the players would come and hang out with him. Those were some intense games, I remember Art Shell, who could hold the basketball with one hand, getting pissed off. He yelled and slammed the ball on the court, it bounced and hit the roof, very impressive.

Thetford Aqua Magic Residence RV Toilet
Back in September I changed out the stock toilet in our camper, a Thetford Aqua Magic V hand flush for a Thetford Aqua Magic Residence foot flush. After two camping trips with the new toilet Cyndi and I both agree it was a good change. Here is the stock toilet I removed. And here is the new toilet. Staying with the same brand helped to eliminate any dimensional problems. I looked at some of the offerings from Dometic but there would have been a clearance issue between the toilet and the back...

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575
I'm arranging for install this week and was wondering if you had done any measurement on the change of the hitch ball height before and after the final asymmetrical install? I'm hoping for a 1/2" increase in the ball height as well as settling the front end a bit. Thanks for the detailed report!

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575
HS - Since our rig (1500 pulling a light 1575) was already level and I only needed to remove a small amount of bouncing/porpoising I never measured the top of the ball height. Even with 3 & 3 wedges (the max) everything still sat & towed level. The issue was that the ride was too stiff. I went to 3 & 2 wedges and all is truly perfect. 3 & 2 wedges is the perfect amount of wedges to keep the springs exactly where they sit with no load on our truck. If I were you I would get a...

Re: Torklift Lower StableLoads on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 towing a Lance 1575
Frank - You have StableLoads?! I'm surprised that Torklift didn't know that. I (& they) thought that I was the first non-TC LOA'er to use them. Awesome! I am glad to hear about your results and tips. I'm also glad to find that I'm following in your footsteps. So it sounds like you first tried 2 wedges and have now moved up to 3 (like I have). What didn't you like about having just 2 wedges? And I'm glad to know that I'm on the right track with planning to use the electric tongue jack...

Forgot to mention - I tried Frank's trick today and extended the tongue jack with the coupler clamped to the ball. This easily raised the rear end of the truck enough to engage the StableLoads. The entire process took 2 minutes.

Re: iBALL Wireless Trailer Hitch Camera
After using the IBall to hitch up these past few weeks, I can now say that I would highly recommend it. Lining up the ball and hitch, as well as gauging correct distance to back up is now a piece of cake - it works every time w/o having to get in and out of the truck all the time to see where I'm at.

Here's a link to the I-Ball site; http://www.iballhitchcam.com/ I ordered one last week (they had a $10 off special) and received it but have not used it yet (we were away camping/fly fishing when it was delivered). As Don say,s it appears to work really well for its intended use and I look forward to using it on our next trip. It can also be aptly referred to as a "marriage counselor in a box"! I'm sure some of you can relate to that...
