Re: Honda EU2000i Generator Review

Nixamousa ·
Recently purchased a Hutch Mountain propane conversion kit for one of our two Honda gens. Anxious to install and gauge performance. Used one of two gens during a trip to Grand Canyon this past summer. Camping at higher elevations we found we did not need the 2nd gen since no A/C was necessary. We also use our gens as backup power for our home. We can run critical home circuits on one gen. Being able to tap into our 400 gallon propane heating supply makes this very handy for extended power...

Re: Good Sam RV GPS

We bought the Garmin last year for our trip to Alaska. First time with GPS in the truck. We were very happy with it. Bought the new truck equipped with Navigation It is not as user friendly as the Garmin but we are getting more familiar with it. Any of them are IMHO worth their weight in gold. I have been using hand held gps for several years while hunting to keep getting back to camp before dinner. Good stuff, especially in a snow storm at 8k ft elevation.

Re: Carefree Awning Support Poles

We made ours, courtesy of a LOA member, Pauls, ingenuity! We got the swimming pool skimmer poles from Amazon and the PVC pieces from Lowes. We did cut the saddle differently: just cut that large "tube" section in half and that created a cradle. We glued in a thin sheet of white closed-cell foam that was left over from our fantastic fan gasket. (My husband said the same material shipped with his computer to protect the screen during transit.) He did use a screw to hold that PVC to the pole.

Re: Carefree Awning Support Poles

Thanks for the mention. Here's a link to my DIY support poles. I have not added any straps yet, but as mentioned here it's relatively easy to do. When I made these Carefree was still working on their poles and I did not want to wait. They have worked out very well and are quick and easy to set up. I do strongly recommend some kind of support, either DIY or from Carefree. Too many posts here about awning failures.
