Re: Access To Spare Tire made Easy (Magic Creeper)

This is where I do my occasional pitch for a Personal Locator Device. These devices send a signal, via a satellite network, to a global emergency center which contacts local authorities. It is the same system used by shipping and airlines. The system can locate you within a meter of where you are and will also track you if you are on the move. There are all sorts of models and subscription plans. Lestie and I have The Spot. It is pretty basic and the satellite subscription can be deactivated...

The flow through sensors are not compatible with rubber stems. If you want to use the flow through sensors then yes you would have to have metal stems. However, cap sensors will go right on a rubber stems and be very accurate. We mainly sell the the cap sensors for that reason. But if you want flow through sensors we do offer those as well. We also sell just the sensors so if you already have a system and just want new cap sensors, we can do that too. Let me know what you think...

Trickle charge batteries in storage

Dr Mike and Ann ·
PRODUCT: SUNER POWER 12V Solar Battery Charger Maintainer, Waterproof 20W Solar Trickle Charger, High Efficiency Solar Panel Kit, Built-in Intelligent MPPT Co ntroller. REPORT: I live in a condominium, and there is no power access at my storage facility, so when I winterized my model 1575 with two AMG 100 amp hour batteries, I had to figure out a way to keep them healthy with trickle charge. My solution, this 20 W solar trickle charger. I mounting it to my front hitch, and I plugged it into...

This looks great!! Do you need 2 solar battery maintainers to maintain two batterries?? Also, does the charger adjust to two 6 volt batteries as well as a 12 volt?

Thanks to everyone for either the thumbs up or the comments. As a new V to RV, all of this is A workout, but this solution for trickle charging and storage is likely to work for a long time. If anyone sees a TV With the tag "DRMIKE," or a Model 1575 with the decal "Lancelot," Please stop by and say Hi.

There are several different solar chargers on the market That are typically 10 watt for one 100 amp hour battery. Whether it makes a difference if it is 6 volts or 12 volts, AMG or Lithium, I don't think it matters. Because I have two 100 amp/hour AMG batteries, I selected the 20 watt solar panel. But the real advantage for this particular 20 watt solar panel was the preinstalled bracket That allowed me to adjust the angle of the solar panel. Further, it has a Built-in charge controller, and...

For those that have shore power available but don't want to leave the RV plugged in all the time, and option is to insert an inexpensive (...like 10 bucks...) 'coffee pot timer' into an outlet and plug in the camper (or a separate battery charger). Once or twice a day it will kick on for the period you desire and then go to sleep for the rest of the day. The next day it repeats its cycle. Prior to the popularity of smart chargers or trickle chargers, we used these for years on our boats,...

Re: Rally on Vancouver Island!!

SerKel ·
I have been living on the island for almost a year now (will be a year in July) and am so very glad I made the move. It was the right thing for me. Beauty everywhere and great people to spend time with. So glad that many of you are coming and even more impressed that I do not have to a sales pitch! Thanks to all of you! Glad that I will be meeting some new faces and seeing some longstanding friends. Looking forward to it!

I support Gary's position that for his needs, lead acid is just fine. If you stand back and look at his point, most that argue for lithiums are making an apples-to-oranges comparison. Gary probably doesn't spend the equivalent of two months off grid per season or the equivalent of a year in his camper by treating it like a home. Therefore, it's a rather unfair argument that somehow his technology is a poor choice. Like he, we're occasional recreational users, and have never suffered zero...
