Like BigE, mine starts with just a couple pulls. It is possible that it flooded if the choke is not set properly. I had trouble once in maybe 50-60 starts, and I think I bumped the choke and flooded it. Also, it needs to be OFF the Eco setting to start it. I would call mine quiet too.

It sound alike flooding the choke may be an issue here. How does one "unflood" the choke? Siphon a bit out? Thanks. Lee-Ann

The Smarter Tools 2000IQ doesn't have a vent or a cap vent at all. The way I "unflooded" my unit was to: 1) Let it sit for a few hours (if you aren't in a hurry to use it) or 2) Turn the fuel source to "off" , also set the generator to "off" (as in on/off) and just pull the string about 10 times. then, wait a minute or two, turn the fuel switch to on and then turn the generator to "on" and pull the choke out about 1/2 way and give it a big, honking pull. Also, make sure you have the "eco"...

Honda EU2000i Generator Review

WoodGlue ·
I recently rented one from Home Depot despite the negative attitude of the rental guy (that it wouldn't run my 2014 9k A/C) HA! I did my research and guess what, it worked beautifully! Easy to start (one tug) and worked almost silently. The thing is you don't start it in ECO MODE, full on power is what you need. Now the newer 9k units might be a little more touchy as Coleman-Mach has made changes to the 9k, so that's iffy. If you have a newer model 9k, I'd rent one and see how it runs. For...

Re: Why you want the Honda EU2200i Companion

The receptacles are 20 amp. Page 12 of the manual.(or look at the plug-NEMA 20 amp ) No need for the companion unless you are paralleling 2 generators or like the twistlok 30 amp plug.

"Pedal Commander"

Iconnekt ·
I installed "Pedal Commander" on the F250, which is an electronic gizmo that alters the throttle response on (relatively modern) engines with electric throttle control. Practically everything up to ten years old. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N15TTBH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00? I have to say I'm impressed, it really does what it says it does. You can calibrate the throttle to be very slow in Eco mode (really sluggish, but it's Eco!) or very, very peppy in Sport. It seems like...
