Re: Thetford Aqua Magic Residence RV Toilet
BIG E, Your new toilet the foot flush on ours in the 5'er is on the other side. The ball valve will act up with age. I am having to replace ours for the second. By the way the inside bowl is it plastic or china bowl? Ours is the china bow. Now the TC that is a different critter, does not hold its water it leaks through the slide mechanism straight into the black tank. Have you tried super fine steel wool to remove the rust stain on the floor. Just a thought I had. Nice work on the install...

Re: Thetford Aqua Magic Residence RV Toilet
My pot sits on a shelf so the hieght of the standard low potty is fine, but having the elongations sounds like a very good idea. I am going to get the dimensions of a suitable new elongated pot and figure if it would hinder the approach to the shower. It might make it a bit more awkward.

Re: Thetford Aqua Magic Residence RV Toilet
Capt PJ- We put the same toilet in our 920, and if it works in our small bathroom, it will surely work in your's. We used the Low Profile model (Thetford 42170) because our toilet also sits on a raised platform (my legs still dangle a bit). This was one of our better mods, but of course your results may vary... -Grayden

Big E's List Of Recommended Camping Stuff
I thought I would make a list of stuff, products that have worked well for us. Some of the items are fan favorites, tried and true and widely used and accepted across the LOA spectrum of members. Others are little known, sleeper products if you will. Some have been passionately debated and others, not so much. Hope this list can be of use to somebody. To start things off simple, toilet paper. White Cloud Green Earth available at Wal Mart. Broke down more quickly than every other TP I tested,...

Thetford Aqua Magic Residence RV Toilet
Back in September I changed out the stock toilet in our camper, a Thetford Aqua Magic V hand flush for a Thetford Aqua Magic Residence foot flush. After two camping trips with the new toilet Cyndi and I both agree it was a good change. Here is the stock toilet I removed. And here is the new toilet. Staying with the same brand helped to eliminate any dimensional problems. I looked at some of the offerings from Dometic but there would have been a clearance issue between the toilet and the back...

Re: WeBoost (Wilson Electronics) Drive 4GM Cell Signal Booster
Tom, it's not total magic, but close to it and it. Often it will save the day when you think you have no phone service. And, it improves your mobile hot spot for the internet. Last month with Setters in the Smokies, we had no phone signal. The Speedboost worked in both our campers and we were also able to make a mobile hot spot with our phones because of it. Without it, no dice. I had forgotten the metal ground plane for the magnetic mount antenna so we improvised by sticking the antenna to...

Re: Big E's List Of Recommended Camping Stuff
We have most of this stuff from previous camper. Don't forget, commercial TP is a no go, and TP should be purchased at RV centers, appropriate for RV toilets.

Access To Spare Tire made Easy (Magic Creeper)
While watching an automotive show there was an advertisement for a new style of creeper called Magic Creeper. On the newer TT's with the spare mounted in the center of the frame I always wondered how I would get the spare out from under the TT without dragging the tire out. Maybe a long piece of cardboard or carpet and crank the tire down on to it and drag it out and the same when returning the tire to it's storage location. The Magic Creeper requires no dragging. This "creeper" is a...

Think what we could do at a future LOA rally! Lay all the magic creepers end to end, its a slip and slide. Hmmm, what else?

Re: Access To Spare Tire made Easy (Magic Creeper)
I use a "portable floor." It's actually an old chloroplast 4X4 campaign sign that I fold in half to store. I can get some serious speed getting from here to there on my back, and it's probably a lot easier to keep clean than that Magic Creeper. I don't lose my tools while down there, either!

Re: Happy Camper Holding Tank Treatment
That is what I did 19 years ago. It was a great decision. It seems that scores are following me. I have several friends who are just putting their last few years in to get their retirement. Some have already bought property out of state and are waiting for the magic day. My family moved to CA in the mid 50's, I graduated HS in 1969 and it truly was the Golden State; I could not conceive of living anywhere else. But alas, things changed......
