I found the unit remote very handy...it takes a few times to get all the functions figured out. Once you know the ones you like and use most often you can almost do it in the dark. the fan is very quiet when running below 60%, but at 100% it sure does evac the stale air. Used the circulator once on the last trip, but figured the heater was doing enuf so why use the battery. The data display on the remote is useful and easy to read. excapt hatch for a 1172

flniehus ·
I just purchased a 2013, 1172 with hail damage. I am looking for the large hatch approx 25'' x 32''. I called the dealer and they want $1100 for to whole unit. I only need the plastic cover. There must be a lot of owners needing just the cover from hail, wind or any other type of damage. I open the escape hatch over the bed and set it somewhere I can reach, sometimes on the top of the air conditioner. WIth no luck there, I climbed the ladder and tried it in back of the camper. Almost always, the escape hatch trick works...

RSI Smartcap

Flatcat ·
Just a preliminary review, only had it for 3 days so far... Got an RSI Smartcap installed on my F-150 this week. The Smartcap is a canopy manufactured in South Africa. Pros: Made of stainless steel, not fiberglass. Custom version available for many newer truck models. Weighs less than fiberglass, ~200 lbs. Integrated rails for attaching racks or other items to the top. Very strong, can hold 330 lbs on top while moving, 770 lbs stationary. Sides feature gullwing glass panels that flip up,...
