Back in September I changed out the stock toilet in our camper, a Thetford Aqua Magic V hand flush for a Thetford Aqua Magic Residence foot flush. After two camping trips with the new toilet Cyndi and I both agree it was a good change.

And here is the new toilet.
Staying with the same brand helped to eliminate any dimensional problems. I looked at some of the offerings from Dometic but there would have been a clearance issue between the toilet and the back wall. The swap was extremely straight forward and easy. The only negative I encountered was a stain on the floor from the black rubber molding Lance installs under the front edge of the toilet to keep it from rocking. I found I needed to install the rubber molding on the new toilet for the same reason. Since we use a contour bath rug anyway, it covers the stain...

Ok, so on with business, so to speak. Things that are better vs the old toilet.
Foot flush. No more leaning over to toilet to flush it.
Better bowl coverage when flushing.
Seat height. Slightly taller than stock toilet and seems to be a bit more comfortable.
Ball valve vs blade valve. The stock toilet had a blade valve at the bottom which dropped slightly the moved sideways vs the rolling type ball valve in the new toilet. The ball valve cleans itself much better/faster than the blade valve.
Noticed two things that cold be considered negative about the new toilet, although we don't.
The toilet seat is larger, meaning in the open area. The first few times it was sat upon it was almost like, oh crap (pun intended). Did I just sit down with the seat up? Nope it's down. Once you get used to this it's fine, no issues. And you can also change the seat to any residential toilet seat you choose.
The new toilet does seem to rock a bit more than the old toilet. I have checked and it is securely bolted down and stable at the floor. This may just be in my mind as I never really paid attention before.
All in all and excellent upgrade. This toilet is all plastic so it only weighs slightly more than the stock one. After using it on a few trips now, no regrets and would definitely do it again.......
