We just got this one - Sangean-MMR-88-Emergency-Flashlight-Smartphone Charger Weather radio .

Just last week ahead of our cross-country trip. And for the same reason as you did.

So far, so good - well it seems to work as described. We had an Eton weather radio a few years ago and it was utter junk.

We'd be interested in comparing notes.
