I think it depends on what other plans you have or have access to. We used the very basic onstar wifi service because we are generally luddites and do not have data plans or even cell phones. The basic plan was ok and we used it on a number of trips. The ‘full meal deal’ was way more than we would ever use and seemed to me to be a lesser version of what we could have through apps etc. if we were interested in all that stuff.
