I have 3 Bolt locks to secure my flat tow hitch equipment. I went with the Bolt locks to get some keys off my ring, and hoping this lock will be more reliable than the cheaper hitch pin locks I had before (home depot specials). The Bolt locks have been on my rig now for more than a year, are working perfectly, and seem to be resistant to highway dirt and crud.
Before buying the Bolt locks, I was seeing at least one lock failure a year which was a major pain. The cheapo pin locks from the big box stores were very susceptible to getting gummed up with road contaminants.
I wish Bolt would make a 1/2" tow bar lock. That is the last lock in the string, which locks my tow bar to my jeep bumper bracket. They make a 1/2" lock, but the shaft is too short.
