My Experience:
I purchased the Bolt Receiver Lock (the Dodge model - 7018448, I have a 2018 Dodge Ram) from Amazon for $25. My goal was to eliminate the amount of keys on my key chain. If any of you have read my reviews, you may have come across my review of RV Locks Keyless Entry. I put the RV Locks on all three of my 2017 2185’s door and keyed them the same to eliminate the wad of keys the dealer gave me when I purchased the trailer.
I saw the Bolt Receiver Lock on Amazon and liked the concept of keying the Receiver lock to my vehicle key which will always be with me when towing and thus eliminating another key on the key ring. It really is that simple. All you have to do is make sure you put the key in the lock that you want to use in, on the first use and it is keyed to that specific key for life. WARNING - you can never re-key the lock. Meaning if you get rid of your vehicle and didn’t keep a spare key, you are sh!t out of luck.
Currently on Amazon, the BOLT Receiver Lock has a 4.7 out of 5. I would definitely agree with the mostly 5 star reviews. It is easy to set up, has a solid feel, good look and eliminated a key from my key chain. Plus: I can never forget to bring the key with me. BOLT makes a whole product line that can be keyed to a vehicle key which I will be purchasing soon. I’ll update this review when I receive them I had an opportunity to test them out. I would definitely recommend the BOLT Receiver Lock if you are in the market for a new receiver lock or are wanting to eliminate keys from your key chain.
